Black-shouldered Kite (elanus axillaris). I have spent many rewarding and challenging / hours in the great outdoors finding and / photographing some of Australia’s wonderful wildlife. / Here I present a piece featuring a beautiful bird / of prey: the Black-shouldered Kite. I find it a striking bird with its snowy white / feathers and intense amber/orange eyes. / On a couple of occasions I have been able / to get close views of them in the wild. A new image taken just today of a single Dragonfly that found his way into the back window of my car; I don’t drive this vehicle much, as I recently purchased a newer model…..I saw him in the back window and he wasn’t moving….he turned out to be a very coorperative model for several shots; I hope you like them. Old world creation technique was skillfully applied in the making of this Stained glass works.. It can be seen on display in Downtown St. Louis, Mo. at the Museum. It was created for display at the worlds fair there in the early 1900’s… This and other works of that time are highly cherished & collectable by many. Thanks for ck-ing it out here..

I don’t often see monarch butterflies, so when I spotted this one at Hodges Gardens near Many, Louisiana, I employed my husband’s help in trying to get a good shot at it. Tommy stood guard at the upper level of the butterfly garden while I posted myself in the lower portion. Thanks to my husband’s keen eye, I finally relocated the elusive flutterer and got this photo of it to which I’ve applied some PS filters.

Bramble Rainbowtree…. she throws her arms skyward reaching to the heavens above… spots, stripes, flowers and streamers are added to convey the celebration and joyfulness in her spontaneous gesture…. ...Little Bramble Rainbowtree began as a little pencil drawing inspired by my beautiful niece Maya, who has the longest hair ever! This so reminds me of her, except that Maya’s hair is much more beautiful and much darker in colour. ...I have coloured Bramble Rainbowtree digitally, I hope you like this special fairy :) ...a great little vintage design for big and little girls, friends, birthdays, gifts, bedroom decor, nursery walls, etc.

I thought I’d improve on my image and substitute a real flower for the hummingbird feeder flower so this is my attempt to do so. An althea from Mama’s garden was used as the overlay for the plastic flower. I liked the dreaminess of the hummingbird image and i think the exotic looking flower added to that dreaminess. Just playing on a day when tropical showers from the Gulf are keeping me indoors. I got the photo of the hummingbird through the windows panes of the French doors on my patio, so the rain hasn’t really stopped me from having fun with my camera and Photoshop. Sometimes I feel like a kindergartner with a box of crayons and big sheets of paper waiting for my flights of expression!

Day Dreaming
by IngzCanon 350D / F/5.6 / 1/400seg / ISO-100 I was sitting day dreaming on my varanda and this most beautiful (and the biggest) butterfly that I had ever seen came to visit my Bougainvillea. When I realised I wasn’t still day dreaming (as I never get the honour of such beautiful visitors) I ran inside to get my camera half expecting she would have already gone! It was so hard as she kept fluttering around but I manage to get this shot. / This is very new to me as I have never been able to capture something as beautiful as this.
