This guy was pretty cool, sitting there minding his own business, and I just had to get the shot. But as I lifted the camera and looked through the lens he just broke into this mean stare into the lens like he was gonna hurt me. I saw it and quickly pressed the shutter. Later I complimented him on his tattoos and showed him the shot and it was then that his frown turned into a broad grin…phew!

Polar Bear mum and cubs relax on an ice floe. / / The sea ice is shrinking at an alarming rate, which has a huge impact for the bears as this is their main hunting ground. We were vacationing in Iran and there were these mausoleums and tombs in tribute to great poets, architecture reminiscent of old Islam and gorgeous tiles and organic paintings on the walls. This shot was almost unintentional, I noticed the light and the shadows and just took the shot, this one shot. I didn’t even look at it on the digital screen of my camera, there was so much beauty around me I didn’t want to waste time, I didn’t want to miss anything. I didn’t see this shot again till I uploaded the pictures onto my laptop. This picture is a reminder of the beauty of Iran.

The Sea Venture was one of the first ships to arrive in Bermuda. It was thrown accidentally off course by a hurricane and landed on the reefs intact. Its original course was with a fleet from England headed towards / Jamestown, Virginia to aid in the colonization. From being shipwrecked, the crew and passengers of the Sea Venture settled in Bermuda and benefitted from its tropical paradise and set up a small colony. This painting is a Mixed Media piece, combining original digital photography taken in Bermuda by me SBC, with my painting, and drawings. It is intended to capture the natural and surreal beauty of Bermuda through my eyes. This art won an Honorable Mention Award in the Rowayton Art Show in 2006 and First Place in the Darien Art Show in 2007. It is presently being considered for exhibition at the Royal Navy Dockyard Museum in Bermuda. Thank you for your interest, comments and purchases!

Detail from the night performance named the Folk Song Festival of Liu Sanjie, which is presented outdoors in the Shanshui Theatre near Yangshuo, China. It’s a performance like you’ve never experienced, staged along the Lijiang River and 12 Peaks. Breathtakingly beautiful show. This photograph was not enhanced – shot with 300 mm lens length. “Liu Sanjie Blue” won an honorable mention award in WIPI’s 2008 international juried photography competition. 2500+ views, 33 faves. This is one of my favourite shots taken on black and white film and taken in St Mark’s Square in Venice, Italy. I have scanned the print. I like the timelessness of this shot and the sense of innocence. She was surrounded by the pigeons at first and she didn’t mind. But later, one flew on her head and she minded a lot. I recently made a sale on redbubble with this shot. A matted print in Off White to Lucy, my sister-in-law, in the UK. Many thanks so much for purchasing this. While we were roadtripping through New England one of our first stops was in Essex, Connecticut. The season was fall and our intention was to take in the wonders of nature, enjoy the fall foilage. In Essex we bought tickets for the Essex Steam Train and Riverboat. When we got to the ticket counter it turned out that the train had been reserved for a private party and not open to the public on that day but since it was just the two of us ( my husband and I) they said they would give us a private car. If you still haven’t figured it out well the private car looked like what you see above. It had this antique feel about it, reminded me of a time when these trains were the means of tranportation, nothing like the trains we have today. And then every once in a while the steam train would let out a tut. It was enchanting. The blue of the chairs so cool, so lush, the sun streaming in. A perfect stop on what turned into a perfect trip. / Sitting the old Fashioned Way

Emerald Paradise As Is… / Canon PowerShot S3 IS Rainbow Springs Florida’s third largest spring, Rainbow Springs pump 600 million gallons of water daily and serves as the head water to the pristine Rainbow River. The property was acquired by the State Park Service in 1990 and is slowly being allowed to revert to its natural state. / Beautiful floral gardens surround the spring, and the area is immensely popular in the spring when the azaleas are in bloom. The state also acquired Rainbow Springs State Campground, located nearby, which was formerly privately owned. From the campground, you can tube or canoe the crystalline waters of Rainbow River, or fish for large mouth bass and other freshwater species. / A nature trail provides a lovely walk past two waterfalls and the azalea gardens, and meanders along the Rainbow River. / /

*Sunflowers and Colorado Sunsets * Revisiting the Sunflower fields I miss so much, a magical place on the eastern plains of Colorado like no where else, a place one day I hope returns. As the front rage of the Colorado Rocky Mountains dances with the setting sun, this scene seemed something out a paradise lost, the kind of thing you only ever read about. On this day when shooting the sunset here, I shot over 400 shots and came back quite a few other times as well. Well worth it I would say!
