Although I’ve never really been a huge fan of this practice, I decided one day to photograph him doing so… just to see how well I could capture the traces of light in a dark room. Much to my surprise, I captured many interesting shapes, icons, and symbols that were created by the spinning lights. This work is inspired by arum lilies. / I see these lillies as a representation of purity. I loaded this onto RB first as I consider it to be the best I have done so far. The fluidity of the lines and the colouration worked out so well. Others on RB seem to like it too. I would like to thank the Works on Paper Group for Featuring it. It is done with caligraphy and metallic brushpens on paper (110gsm Acid free Cartridge Paper). I use these brushpens as they allow free flowing strokes. They are like preloaded paintbrushes unfortunately they are no longer made in the gold and silver I have used here. For a person as messy as me they are a great solution. The different effects occur as the brushes work differently when they are fully loaded or running out or when they interact with the texture of the paper. Unfortunately they have stopped making them so I am hoarding the ones I have left. I love flowers and they are often the inspiration for my work. The original hangs in my hallway and is not currently for sale.

Photo made in Planckendael zoo – Belgium Koala, – happily sleeping in its tree… Koala (Phascolarctos cinereus ) wikipedia) The Koala Bear is on the IUNCR red list of endangered species (Status: Least Concern ). Why is the koala endangered? (source “Wikianswers.com http://wiki.answers.com/Q/Why_is_the_koala_endangered) / Koalas live only in eucalyptus forests and are completely dependent on these forests for their survival, both as a habitat and as their primary food supply. Human activities such as farming, logging, and urban development endanger the koala by destroying eucalyptus forests.
