I scanned a piece of lace this week and used it as a texture over this photo of a thistle that I made two weeks ago. I was looking for a romantic quote involving a thistle which I wanted to include in the description, when I came upon this lovely fable written by Louisa May Alcott. The inspiration for the final version came to me after reading Lily-Bell And Thistledown , the charming story of a bad and heartless thistle who became good and compassionate for the love of a little fairy. /
