Red Bubble’s First Book /// In the Moment /// Overall Winner / I found myself in Geneva for a week for work last year. The only other time I had been to Switzerland was Zurich for 2 nights in the middle of winter, so I was kind of surprised by the beautiful (and hot!) summer weather I experienced on this visit. / The Lake at Geneva is where everyone goes to cool off and I was mesmerised watching all these crazy dudes doing amazing things off a high-dive on the edge of the lake. I took a few shots and managed to capture this moment among them. / I entered this work into the 2007 Linden Gallery Post Card Show in St.Kilda, and was absolutely stoked to have been awarded one of the six entries to be reproduced as postcards and sold through the gallery.
Enjoy!

A baby angel begins to slip down into the clouds as sun rays kiss his little body. This version has the words “Forever an Angel, Forever Loved” added to make it an ideal sympathy card if someone you know has experienced this unspeakable loss. These sorts of cards are not readily available. Deanna has lost several babies to miscarriage. This art is a tribute to all the little angels in our world who left their parents far too soon. This was taken near Clare, two hours north of Adelaide, South Australia, on New Year’s Eve. The colours depicted a hot summer and a perfect end to that year. The power lines drew my eye to the distance and in a sense to the future, and all that it held. This was taken using a Canon DSLR EOS 350D. This shot was featured in the Simple by Design Group.

“Clouds on the Water, Fire Near the Sky” / Purchase a Mouse Pad of this image I happened onto this gorgeous sunrise over the White River at a time when the water was at its lowest. I was delighted to catch the calm surface for reflections, as the low rising sun was casting its first orange glow over the autumn colors.
Another Dandelion….............. Taken in natural Sunlight…... No flash. it was in a partially shaded area while being soaked by the sun in other areas. . / or maybe just an inner glow…..................
Painting by Dorina Costras / Acrylic on canvas / 54/58 cm / Original for sale __________ “The leaves grown dark / By the autumn wind fall / Cover the ground, / Cover your body, / The wrapping of your being / That hides your true ego. / The warm dew of your eyes flows, / Nothing is there to wait for her, / It gets lost in the void, / Nothing needs their torpor. / Glitter in the sun / That passes through your body / And immerses it in candid dazzle, / The night is coming, the Orient is dancing, / Whirling in his veils, voluptuous dance / Wraps the world. / .And the wood that contains you, / Oh my goddess. And all is mystery, / Possible enigma, incomprehensible fear.” Gothica – The Pure Nymph lyrics
I want to fall in a letard and leave my fate in your hands / I don’t want to know if I indicate trace nor where my steps lead / Lullabies and rage mix in the dawn / In my head imaginary storms roar / I want to drink water dream sleep / and feel how my time escapes / Back to yesterday at the same temple to the wishing well. / Prayers pouring bottles / rumors of loaded weapons / in my head imaginary storms roar. / Deserts that I never crossed / and trains that I never took / uncertain time is coming / in which all the answers / crowd behind the door of a pending to a why. / I want to find a good shelter with you / escaping from the world / I want to find a good shelter / and want that fire makes us become into smoke. / Flowers with blood on their sap / statues looking for their soul / in my head imaginary storms roar. “Tormentas imaginarias” by 091 rock band Capileira village, Grenade (Andalusia, Spain) / Canon 400D + Texture layer Feature work in: / - Universal Innovation group (September 09) / - Digital Photography group (September 09)
1015 views as of Dec 8, 2009 / / I was down at Okanagan beach this afternoon taking some photographs when I noticed the reflection of some tree tops with the light shining through them in this puddle. Thought it looked almost like the leaves in the puddle were falling onto the trees…..seemed kind of magical to me :)
Best on full Size Another eagle capture from the November 21, 2009 shoot on the Conowingo Dam with Mike Rucci , BigD and Lori Deiter . This image is a compilation of the eagle image, shot at 300mm and taken with the Nikon D300 and the 70-300mm vr Nikon lens at Conowingo, Maryland, 11/21/09; and the clouds which were taken on 5/29/09 with the Nikon D40x and the 18-200mm vr Nikon lens in Montgomery County, Maryland. Images combined in Photoshop and treated to a bit of dodging and burning.
Best On Full Size “You choose to go voluntarily into the fire. The blaze might well destroy you. But if you survive, every blow of the hammer will serve to shape your being. Every drop of water wrung from you will temper and strengthen your soul.” -Margaret Weis, Soulforge (finished posting image at 1:30 am 12/10/09) A compilation of two of my images. The eagle was taken on November 21, 2009 at Conowingo Dam in Conowingo Maryland with fellow RedBubblers Mike Rucci , BigD , and Lori Deiter with the Nikon D300 and the 70-300mm vr Nikon lens (at 300mm). The sky image was taken on April 12, 2008 in Montgomery County, Maryland, during an amazing and unusual sunset with the Nikon D40x and the 18-135mm Nikon lens. Several layers of both images combined in Photshop at various blendings and opacities. Dodging and burning and a faint dry brush filter applied to my birdie friend rounded out the fun.
