from my collection of vintage designer signed jewelry: circa 1940s World War 2 Sweetheart Expansion Bracelet and Locket Pendant. Designer Signed collectible vintage jewelry. Hallmark engraved: / American Queen / Pitman & Keeler / 12 K Gold over Sterling Silver / the only difference between this bracelet and pendant set is the pendant has “Rose Gold” in the Forget Me Not flower and the Lovebird wings and tail. American Queen “Sweetheart” jewelry is highly collectible and sought after the world over. What is extremely rare is to find a matching set. / i considered myself extremely fortunate to find and purchase the locket pendant matching this sweetheart expansion bracelet about two years after i purchased the bracelet !! it is rare to match a set. This particular set is so lovely because they are not monogramed (although i do also love the monogramed jewelry because of the beauty of the love symbolized between the two lovers), and also because it is rare to find a set that is not monogramed, this beautiful collectible set features 2 hearts, a lovebird and a “Forget Me Not” flower all engraved into the gold over sterling silver pieces. Sweetheart jewelry was given as gifts by Soldiers of the United States Military. / An expression of love and fidelity, the sweetheart expansion bracelet and/or pendant was traditionally worn by the wife, girlfriend, lover of the soldier until the soldier returned from war.
