This is my favorite photo of all! There is a wild red rose by my kitchen door. Late one afternoon, I was clipping tired blooms from the clusters; some clusters were hanging down. As I reached for this one to turn it over, a glimpse of gold flashed in the low sun. I looked again and discovered this tiny little frog napping in the heart of the bloom. I had only the negative and a small digital file from a scan, and it has taken me a month to get it into the appropriate high-resolution format where I can finally offer it for sale! This is one of my favorite pictures. I am passion about this photo because my husband gave me these roses for our 13th Wedding Anniversary. That is why I titled it “Anniversary Roses”.

I am passion about this rose because it’s the most beautiful rose that I have ever seen. This picture make me want to grab it and give it to someone special. This would make a great anniversary or birthday card. Maybe even a Valentine’s day card.

I would like to say that my hubby bought these red roses for me, but he didn’t!! They were a gift from a French family who were holidaying next door who came round for drinks and a buffet last night. If love is a battlefield, / Is it one, or both of us that yield? / Was it one of us that held the gun? / Or is it that we have both won? Taken in Aranjuez, a little town approximately 45 minutes outside of Madrid. I had just completed my visit of the Palacio Real and was walking aimlessly through this sleepy town. I noticed from afar that there was a gathering at the Real Iglesia de San Antonio, which is preceded by an enormous square and presumed it was a wedding. From that distance it was difficult to tell. It was only when I was making my way back towards the train station that I actually visited the site of this beautiful church and realized that the rose petals, rice and confetti were still on the stoop. The smell of rose petals was absolutely beautiful. Such a shame that so many churches no longer allow you to throw rose petals or rice because of the hassle of clean up.
