Captured along the Mount Evans Wilderness in Colorado, this is one of those waterfalls that kind of sneaks up on ya outta the blue, and if you blink, you actually miss it. I really don’t much in the way of long exposure shots, but after being happy with how this one came out, I am going to start doing them more. Hope ya all like it! “Forest Path“ I sure enjoy finding the old log roads, and strolling through the autumn forest, it so much easier walking, and for enjoying the beauty of autumn the forest. Autumn Travels Shot in Alluvial Fan area of Rocky Mountain National Park, Colorado What a scene that just glowed…and I mean GLOWED. It made your jaw just drop open. I am fortunate in that no one else was there, and was lucky to be able to take about 100 shots of this scene alone, playing with composition and such, and custom white balance settings, and in this one, something similar to a sunset setting was used. Emerald Paradise As Is… / Canon PowerShot S3 IS Rainbow Springs Florida’s third largest spring, Rainbow Springs pump 600 million gallons of water daily and serves as the head water to the pristine Rainbow River. The property was acquired by the State Park Service in 1990 and is slowly being allowed to revert to its natural state. / Beautiful floral gardens surround the spring, and the area is immensely popular in the spring when the azaleas are in bloom. The state also acquired Rainbow Springs State Campground, located nearby, which was formerly privately owned. From the campground, you can tube or canoe the crystalline waters of Rainbow River, or fish for large mouth bass and other freshwater species. / A nature trail provides a lovely walk past two waterfalls and the azalea gardens, and meanders along the Rainbow River. / /

The Brighton Azalea Gardens in Brookeville, Maryland, is a member of the Maryland National Capitol Park and Planning Commission properties and was established in 1950. It is recognized as one of suburban Maryland’s springtime showcases, the gardens display more than 22,000 azaleas and other plants. Overlooks the Tridelphia Reservoir. Nina is one of only two remaining wild born Western Lowland gorillas at the Woodland Park Zoo in Seattle. She is a grand old lady somewhere between 40 and 50 years old and she is wonderful! She has a fantastic sense of humor. She will sit looking so stoic for a while, then all of a sudden she will stick her tongue out and make faces! I just adore her! The Western Lowland Gorilla is a subspecies of the Western Gorilla that lives in montane, primary, and secondary forests and lowland swamps in Angola, Cameroon, Central African Republic, Congo, Democratic Republic of the Congo, Equatorial Guinea and Gabon. Adult male Gorillas are prone to cardiomyopathy, a degenerative heart disease. Babec, a Western Lowland Gorilla on exhibit at the Birmingham Zoo in Birmingham, Alabama (USA) was the first gorilla to receive an artificial pacemaker. Binti Jua, who resides at Brookfield Zoo in Illinois, saved a three year old boy who fell into her enclosure in 2003. / The Western Lowland Gorilla is critically endangered. The gorilla is vulnerable to Ebola, deforestation, and poaching.
