Mt Warning is part of an mountain range that used to be extinct volcanos. Captain Cook named it as he could see it far out to sea.It rises way above the surrounding flatlands which there are many sugarcan fields. It’s about 1 hour drive from where I live. and it must be the most painted landscape in this area.

For you Terez , my lovely daughter….she died when she was nearly 15… This is one of my new oil painting series ,90cmx90cmx3cm on canvas . Thank you my friends your comments and support mean a lot to me. I had this pain bottled up in me so so long… but I knew and hoped with time passing things will change and turn out good… I was right, things started to unfold last week and I could just see and feel it. Working with this wonderful model just inspired me and brought all those feelings up from my heart, bones and my most inner part. I loved every minutes of it and it gave me a wonderful peace of mind.

This was painted from a sketch and photograph back home after returning while travelling on a healing journey from Qld to Alice Springs in 2002 Instead of going on a ‘proper;’holiday after a traumatic few years I decided I just had to see the Centre of our beautiful country …so …we just jumped into the car, 4×4 and slept in the back ,cooking with one frypan over a small gas fire rested on the tailboard ,most times I slept on the ground next to the car bcause i didn’t like being confined.
