Featured in Reflections in Building Windows September 11, 2009. / Featured in Art in Math September 6, 2009. / Featured in Light and Reflection August 11, 2009. A hot Sunday morning, April 19, 2009, in Tucson, Arizona. Image taken with the Nikon D40x and the 18-200mm vr Nikon lens. Shutter 1/320, aperture f/5.3, exp -.33, iso 400. Post work included HDR in Photomatix from a single hand held image duplicated to +1/-3 in Photoshop.

Inspired by igotmeacanon, I decided go to Rhosili, Wales and see the coastal shot of the derelict boat that he’d taken. Two slight problems with my idea. The first was a 2 hour trip to which actually took 5 hours and the other was a high tide. Had I been a little earlier I may have seen it., so, in between bouts of heavy rain and gusts of wind, which almost took me off the cliff, I took a few shots of the coast. I hope to go back and see the derelict boat one day. / If anyone is wondering, yes that’s me in the photo, I love my new timer. I hope you like it. Canon 5D, 24-70mm at 24mm, f/16, 1/100 sec, ISO 100. No filters used. Only my camera and the tripod. A vast amount of dust and scratches removed in photoshop. A contrast map and hue deference in photoshop. Australian Army Blackhawk Helicopter, ANZAC Day, 2009 [canon 1000D, Tamron 18-200mm, processed in PS Cs3, many, many layers & a new sky] I was inspired to try to make an image look more illustrative after looking at the amazing work of Adrian Donoghue .
