Original ideas to title , from just few days ago.This is actually the first work ,I made for Valentine’s day (this year). It is a design for a card , or a painting…for a loved one . Today, I wish to ask YOU…Do you think there’s a REAL difference between a platonic love to virtual love. If there is what is the difference to your own opinion. And…What would YOU prefer a platonic love to virtual…or REAL LOVE… ?...If you ask ME, these questions…I would say I would undoubtedly prefer the REAL LOVE, in REALITY. About the difference between a platonic love to virtual love…are similar yet different, when your heart is concerned. In virtual love you usually get to know the person MUCH MUCH better. I think when your heart is breaking by love, is painful from love…it does not matter, if it was REAL love, a platonic love, or virtual love…It broke, because of the POWER of your emotions. During my life, I had few experiences of love…There were moments in my life, that my pains were so strong, that I wish to not know anymore LOVE…At least not that kind of love, that will bleed my heart. As a mother to 2 kids, I one day will have to give my advice…perhaps soon with my teenager kid…Like I used to listen to my mother (and still )...She is much more practical then I..that’s for sure, yet with me, if I need her. This is my homage to Utagawa Kuniyoshi (1797 – 1861) one of the leading Ukiyo-e artists of the late Edo period in 19th century Japan. Among his favourite subjects were cats. This illustration featuring cats having a highland fling is fantastic in its depiction of character both feline and human. I’ve puzzled over how the artist could recreate the energy of Scottish highland dress and dance so faithfully (check out the tartan and bonnets!), bearing in mind that Japan was still a feudal state and a closed book to foreigners. Incredibly Utagawa must have seen Scots dancing a highland fling. He did own a collection of Western engraving prints – perhaps he saw a depiction of the dance in one of these…? Whatever, once seen, never forgotten. Here Utagawa translates the verve of the dance as performed by his favourite animals – cats.
