Sacred Heart mixed medium painting with Sanskrit prayer shard from a Tibetan prayer flag.
A new image taken just today of a single Dragonfly that found his way into the back window of my car; I don’t drive this vehicle much, as I recently purchased a newer model…..I saw him in the back window and he wasn’t moving….he turned out to be a very coorperative model for several shots; I hope you like them. The early morning sun streaming through the East window of our bedroom enhanced the warmth of this tender moment between my daughter and her father. She loved Saturday mornings because of the opportunity to snuggle up closer to her father when he didn’t have to leave for work. I relinquished my place in our bed to grab my camera and capture this special time. This picture was taken 10 years ago, and my little girl is now a teenager who still loves to crawl up into her daddy’s lap. On a spiritual note, I have spent many years trying to sort out the “character” of God… His presence in our lives, if He is demanding or compassionate? When I see this picture I understand the heart of a father towards his child and I can believe that I am cherished by our Father in Heaven. Some people believe there is no God. I can understand that too. But to borrow a quote from a favorite movie of mine, (Second Hand Lions) “Sometimes the thing we need most to believe in may or may not be true.” Whatever you choose to believe in, if it is good for your heart, then cling to it with all your might. Surely you are still our Father! Even if Abraham and Jacob would disown us, LORD, you would still be our Father. You are our Redeemer from ages past. / NLT Isaiah 63:16 A tender greeting for a Father’s Day card! / /

“everything is mostly vast amounts of space between itself my love…...” Gallo, you told me that… and everything came clear… so clear… and even more complex now…. and then, “fluid dynamics”, you said… among all the significant words on that message, those two words brought my childhood back and my obsession for the infinite micro/macro… and you brought light into it. / You are the greatest inspiration for my creations, but this one, derived from that dream, is more than inspiration, it is a deep communion and I dedicate it to you, my soul mate. / / / i am so honored to have been featured in the EMI Magazine! From drizzle to drowning. From dawn to middle of the night dreams that wake me up with a “pow.” That’s it. The answer. Then in the morning the drift falls from a darkened hollow into swirls of vapor and across a seaweed forest. My pencil scrapes. My brush strokes. Awaken. Awake to dream again. A struggle to find an answer that is forgotten in the effort to do do do what I think I must must must and drive myself crazy trying to escape. To sleep on my feet in a daydream of forest palms towering over and pools of languid, blue, mirrors instead of piles of dirty laundry. Or maybe it is all really the same. / The answer laying in the soft white shift of a sheet from a drier in sunlight and waving at the light’s own laughter at the sun. / acrylic on fabric. about 4 ft x 7 ft not stretched. 18×24 acrylic on canvas I painted this one for The Divine Feminine’s challenge “Loving Ladies”. This is my favorite goddess of Love, Lakshmi. This is not your traditional painting of Lakshmi, for instance, I didn’t give her 4 arms. But I think it captures her beauty and femininity. Lakshmi is also the goddess of beauty and wealth. She is kind of like the goddess of the law of attraction. In truth, Lakshmi teaches us to accept our beauty and to find true happiness in the realization of the abundance of our soul.
