CLICK TO LEARN MORE / Sales of this Design? – 3 sales so far :) / / / “Moo Cow Sunrise Family”: by Karin Taylor is another digital design based on Baby Bull Production (click here to see more) / Baby Bull Production is something I created not that long ago. It’s a mixed media piece on canvas textured paper…...i did it in response to the chilled out cows at Mullumbimby, northern New South Wales, who seem to be very laid back, i suspect they are indulging in the ‘other’ kind of grass also….... they have this real chilled look about them, and I’ve never seen cows anywhere else that have this way about them. I put it in the Casino Art Exhibition and it was the only painting that sold, every year a male school teacher goes to that show, or so the legend goes…....and purchases a piece…...it was my lucky year. Tonight I was asked if I’d ever sold a painting in a gallery…well, yes, and at exhibitions and privately. To date I believe I have sold between 30 and 40 original paintings, which I am very proud of…..in the early days 2002 I was very prolific, things have slowed down a bit with my painting now, because i am much more deliberate and take a lot of time to imbue my paintings with layers and love and depth…..it is just how i have grown as an artist, it is nice to report that there is growth along the journey…(and sales lol)!!! Somebody also has a print of these cows and loves them very much from what I understand lol

Much Better Full Size! I love it when the titles I think up can work as double entendres. In this case this gorgeous empty barn … and the farm itself, I guess … do seem to be Finished … cloned off to the left rear is a housing development. It could also refer to the job of plowing and seeding … which, unless these are weeds (are they?) is Finished. But the title also refers to the fact that I’ve mucked around with this shot so much … and it has so many names in my computer (I tend to try to include what processes I used on a shot in its name) ... that last night when I did this version, the only thing I put to the end of the loooooong image name … was … “Finished.” And so, it stuck!! Original image taken just up the road from our house on April 6 of ‘09 in Montgomery County, Maryland, with the Nikon D40x and the 18-200mm vr Nikon/Nikkor lens. Photoshop cloning out of distractions and 2 duplicates created, Photomatix HDR from a single, hand-held image, dups at -/+2 eval, Photoshop for the addition of a texture, then into Paint for some blending.

Image taken on the snowy afternoon of January 20, 2009 with the Nikon D40x and the 18-200mm vr Nikon lens. Post Processing included hdr in Photomatix from a single hand-held image duplicated twice in Photoshop to an eval of 1 1/2 +/- then back to Photoshop for a quick Orton.

Best Viewed On Full Size It’s got that “Nobody’s Home” look … Back in the day when we wanted to visit, we tightened up our pincurls, tied our robes tight, slipped into our slippers, grabbed our coffee and walked next door. Although this wonderful old abandoned farm house is stuck out in the middle of (apparent) nowhere … it’s right smack dab ON route 30 just a bit west of Chambersburg, PA … and I like to think that the farm wives did visit back and forth, too. Image taken with the Nikon D300 and the 18-200mm vr Nikon lens on a bright and sunny, blue-skied July 12, 2009. Shutter 1/640, aperture f/11.0, exp -.33, iso 500. Post included Phun With Photoshop, levels, dodging, burning, selective coloring, in other words, the works, then addition of textures. Best Viewed Larger A companion piece to “Yoooooo Hooooo???” taken on July 12, 2009 on Route 30, west of Chambersburg, Pennsylvania. For the main image, I was using the Nikon D300 and the 18-200mm vr Nikon lens, shutter 1/1600, aperture 7.1, exp -.33, iso 320. Post included levels, dodging, burning, selective coloring in Photoshop then addition of three textures, one of which was my own. In addiion, the house image was combined with one of my own sky shots, taken in my backyard in Maryland. Best on Full Size As we leave the top of Blue Knob mountain heading toward Claysburg my eye is always taken by this beautiful farm between Pavia and Claysburg on State Forest Highway (3003). On this particular day, May 23, 2009, the clouds were outdoing themselves. Had to pull over and get this snap. I got a kick out of all the poofy dandelions happily propagating away in the foreground and trying to compete with the poofy clouds!! Taken with the Nikon D40x with the 18-200mm vr Nikon lens at 1/320 shutter and f/5.6 aperture. Exposure was set at minus .33 and iso was 200. Post processing included hdr from a single hand-held image duplicated twice to an eval of +/- 2 then run through Photomatix. Gave the old clone tool a workout as this beautiful scene is marred by a giant telephone pole and lots and lots of wires!!!

But as the tree grew to maturity its flowers were mediocre and its fruit had a bad odour and tasted vile. Best on Full Size Wandering around my cousin’s farm in Davidsonville, Maryland, I fell in love with so many images. This was taken from the inside of an old tobacco barn which we calculate to be well over a hundred years old. This image is a compilation of two shots, both my own. The barn image, RAW, taken on my Manfrotto tripod, was shot on a disappointingly gray and overcast October 29, 2009 with the Nikon D300. Shutter 1/500, aperture f/11.0, exp 0.00, iso 1600. Sky image, a hand held jpeg, was taken August 29, 2009 with the Nikon D300, shutter 1/640, aperture f/13, exp -.67, iso 400. Lens was 18-200mm vr Nikon in both cases. After the image was combined, I created an hdr in Photomatix by duplicating the jpeg to evals of +1 and -2 in Photoshop. Lots of Photoshop tweaking including addition of 2 textures. This image is a compilation of two shots, plus several textures. The barn is located in Montgomery County, Maryland, off of Gregg Road, and was snapped on October 28, 2009. The eagles were snapped on November 21, 2009 at the Conowingo Dam in Conowingo, Maryland. Both taken with the Nikon D300. Lens used on the barn was the Nikon 18-200mm vr, and the eagles with the Nikon 70-300mm vr. The combined image was duplicated in Photoshop to evals of +3, +1 and -1 and processed in Photomatix 3.2.6 as an HDR image. Textures and various blendings completed in Photoshop.
