Victoria’s coastline – the Great Ocean Road – Australia. / The Twelve Apostles – the famous rock formations / standing in the ocean. This picture was taken / before one in the foreground fell down.
At 3am this morning, I thought I’d start shoveling my backyard. The depth of snow deterred my ambition in cleaning up except a couple of “tunnels” for River – I took a picture of my little shed at pre-dawn and went to the nature park near by with River. :) Donation to charity / 50% of the proceeds of the sale of this image will be donated to Nature Canada.
As Autumn begins, everything tries to hold onto to summer one last time. For one last time, I think summer won!
A cardinal’s eggs in a nest reminded me of Jesus’ promise in the Book of Revelation, “Behold, I make all things new,” encouragement to us all that each day is a new beginning, the start of something fresh and wonderful and the joyful anticipation of exciting discoveries awaiting us.
Enjoy!!
Digital Photo enchanced usiing Photoshop Play song below. Dusk Until Dawn / RoyAllenHunt © October 31, 2006, 2:00 A.M. / by: Voices in My Head Only a mist coming out of the sky / Descending to earth in the dead of the night. / Seeking companions that will give me rise / Some for a moment some for the rest of their lives Come gather to me those of you that will / Come if you wish to feel what I feel / The time hastens fast but no faster than I / Still this thing we must do now / For with the sun again I shall die. Fire and desire are what you expect / Touch my skin shining black obsidian / Your passion it will reflect. / Love me all over dusk until dawn / Suckle and savor my flesh to the bone. / Love me all over dusk until dawn. / Love me all over for soon I will be gone. After we’re done and your fever’s all spent / You will be emptied and in your mind I’ll leave only a hint. / But when again comes the need I will return / To capture that from which my soul forever yearns Only a mist coming out of the sky / Descending to earth in the dead of the night. / Seeking companions that will give me rise / Some for a moment some for the rest of their lives Love me all over dusk until dawn / Suckle and savor my flesh to the depths of my bone. / Love me all over dusk until dawn. / Love me all over for soon I will be gone.
5:30AM. Dawn is just breaking over Nantucket Sound in Dennisport, MA on Cape Cod. So very still and lovely at that hour of the day.
Good times and special moments are meant to be shared with the ones you love. All four members of this family were walking together on the beach, enjoying the beautiful morning. I don’t think that they even noticed me…
Perhaps The Dawn? ‘Tis a beautiful night kissed sky / That shall never come again, / ‘Twas the day I waited for- / I grieve to see it end. I know that I cannot scorn, / An ending quite so dear.. / Yet I feel the need to mourn / The day that once was here. Is it the dawn that touches me so? / Or perhaps the unsettling dusk? / Is it the days that come and go? / Or is it the fact that they must? ‘Tis that when each one fades away / I feel it is very unjust.. / That I cannot capture one beautiful day, / Move on to the next one I must. Winters and summers I watch them go, / Then come all over again. / Sun and rain and falling snow, / Over and over again. Hundreds and hundreds…a thousand days, / That will not come again, / I’m defeated by the grief that stays / When each one meets its end.

Often I like to experiment when I am shooting, I tend to do a lot of it using my Telephotos and Zooms, and this shot is an example of that. I like to get it as close as I can and try to notice the abstract and negative spaces in a frame….the color and the shadow play…. Captured at Cherry Creek State Park at Sunrise, I really wanted to get the color cast in this shot, hope ya all like it! / —-John
