  OK, I’ll be honest: I initially joined RedBubble because I REALLY need to make some money. Seriously. I’ve no income, so I need to genera…

  OK, I’ll be honest: I initially joined RedBubble because I REALLY need to make some money. Seriously. I’ve no income, so I need to generate one. I’ve discovered that what I thought were salable things of mine aren’t, and that’s OK; I’m not upset to learn the truth, because being here and learning and seeing all the MARVELOUS work that’s created by you guys—and making friends—is FAR cooler than knowing I sold a card or two. But I still need to make money, and I haven’t sold anything. Tee-shirts and sweatshirts seem complicated (the template, etc.) so I’ve avoided them. But if they sell better, I’ll give it a try. Does anyone know? I can make some images that suit…been thinking about a little series. Help?

  Well, the opening title has obviously got you all interested if you are reading this. So I might as well go on. I joined Redbubble a month ago and feel that I need to appraise the events of the last month and give thanks to so many. Here goes! I joined Redbubble by chance. I was photosharing on flickr until it became impossible to do so. To cut the “Saga of September” short I basically became an outcast of a photo sharing community. Looking back it is quite funny. I was using Flickr to promote the website I was revamping. (This is currently with Dylan who is doing some File Transfer Protocol thingy which could be Swahili to me – a painting for a website is a very good deal in my estimation). I was making contacts and the hits to my old site were on the up and up. I then mistakenly forgot to put the correct safety level on a piece of work. I own my mistake. Flickr wet beserk. Red lights flashed, sirens sounded and the Administrators took control of my account. IN effect they changed my safety rating from safe to moderate which meant that I could only post to 18+, fetish and porn groups. Whilst not offended by others’ choice of art I felt this was a teeny bit unfair as the main of my art does not fall within this category. I am a believer in self expression (and exposure at times lol) but I fely that my creativity was being stamped on. I picked up my size 38’s and walked. That’s when I stumbled on Redbubble. I could not believe that i had found a site that allowed me to be part of a community, share work, embrce the artistic talents of other and have a showcase of goods for sale with no outlay. My first THANKS goes to the administrators and producers of Redbubble for offering this. I also have to give the very same people thanks for making a computer dim-wit like be able to upload simply, make a clendar with ease, and produce clothing. Joining Redbubble has given me a greater appreciation of web design and greater confidence with the programs on my PC that I just looked at. My second applause goes to the Redbubbler’s that made me so welcome in my first hours of adding material to the site. / was the first person to visit and make a comment on my work. This gave me such a boost. Without knowing it HE WAS THE ONE that stole my virginity. THANKYOU / was an absolute Godsend. He made comments on my work that were open, honest and valid and brought attention to potential ‘faux pas’. He gave me time, advice, support and brought humour into days that were stressed filled with uploading and finding the right groups in which to display my work. THANKYOU. / was my third experience. The first person to make a favourite of one of my works. THANKYOU. This gave my esteem a boost and my confidence a lift. Knowing that others appreciate my work motivates me to paint more. My third round of THANKYOU’s goes to the people who hae favourited my works. I appreciate each and every one of you for taking the time to look at my gallery and moreso for commenting on favouriting works that I have produced. I don’t pretend to be and probably will never be but it gave me confidence to be snap happy with my Sony Cyber Shot. “Mustangs” is tributed to Marcia Baldwin. Dibley gave birth within days of us moving to our new home …we just thought she was a fat cat that had latched on. She will always be a favourite of mine, as will her kittens that we rehomed (yeah right!). “Poppy Plethora” was added to favourite list and gave me the inspiration to make remembrance cards. It made me revist poetry that I haven’t in years. followed in her favouriting. “Every Dog Deserves a Good Home” was favourited by Bela is the latest addition to my animal family and I am touched that her personality reached out to others. THANKYOU. “Istanbul” was favourited by THANKYOU. It made my day when this got a favouriting. IT is not my work but homage to an artist I truly admire and could not possibly attempt to compete with. The subject and the form all appeal to me as it reflects the beauty of the country in which I not live. It graces my home. “Trixie” was given a special favouriting by It’s not her dog but it is her dog. I am happy we met and that she liked this painting enough to add it to her favourites.
