When I took this photo, I had a split second to do so and did not have time to mentally realize that a vertical shot would have been better. I’ve wondered for a while how I could improve this image. Then, a photo rater named Eyal Nahmias suggested adding layers to give the bluebird more head room. I took his advice and came up with this newly-recreated version of Bluebird with Skink. I think it gives the image a fresh, new, more spacious look. Hope you like it.
This was a fun picture to take and I took several pictures before I got this one perfect, where the flame was infact a flame and not a blur or a streak, where the fingers were visible, where the surrounding balck was as black as it could be. Now I didn’t want the house to catch on fire so we set this shot up in the bathroom sans towels. My brother sat with a box of matches and I with my camera, he would strike a match and hold it steady while i took the shot. Match after match was stu=ruck, some burned to fast making him drop it while others hardly burned at all. But often it’s the time you put into a shot that makes it all the more important to you. It was a shot I shared with my brother that makes it all the more special. /
I found this groups of flowers just after one of the many showers we had this summer in SEQ.

I’m sending you my love, / no need to send it back. / You still have my heart / and my life is in a wreck. Memories fill my mind and / my arms ache to hold you tight. / I can’t get past yesterday / when you were all mine. Have you stopped loving me / or did you just give up? / Is there the slightest chance / that you could take me back? / If you’ve searched your heart / and you want to be set free, / I’ll try and understand / no matter how it hurts. / I want you to be happy, / you deserve that much. Just don’t send back my love, / it’s all yours to keep. / And if you ever need some one, / I hope you’ll call on me. A candle surrounded by pine cones. Merry Christmas to all and remember that Jesus is the reason for the season. MY BUBBLESITE
The yellow rump warblers are coming to my patio birdbath and just hanging out with the other birds that are enjoying the feeders. It’s a joy to be this close to them. I sit in my blind and they land on top of it, making little scratchy noises with their tiny claws as they hop over my head. Too much fun!

Blossom’s_Photo_Gallery Brown Falcon (Falco berigora) Taranna Conservation Park, East Coast Tasmania, Australia. AS IS – Straight from the Camera Brown Falcons are small to medium-sized raptors (birds of prey). The female is larger than the male. The Brown Falcon has a range of plumage colours, from very dark brown to light brown above and off-white below. Generally, the upperparts are dark brown and the underparts are pale buff or cream. The sides of the head are brown with a characteristic tear-stripe below the eye. Birds from the tropical north are very dark, with a paler face and undertail, while those from central Australia are paler all over. Younger birds resemble dark adults, but have less obvious barring on the tail, and a buff-yellow colour on the face, throat and nape of the neck. So tempting, something pulling you up the front stairs to the door, the house has been empty for years, and you finally got the guts to go and get a closer look, even though everything in you says “NO..STAY AWAY” you can’t help yourself… you put you hand to the door knob, part of you wanting it to open, part of you hoping that its locked..slowly you start to turn the knob..click, click…its locked…relief and disappointment runs through you at the same time.. turning to leave you hear the knob turn and the creaking of the door.. frozen on the last step, you turn to see the door slowly opening..and before you could move your feet fast enough something grabs your ankles..face first you hit the ground..All you can hear is screaming..realizing its you screaming..You start kicking, but there is nothing there, at least nothing you can see, but you feel it, hands dragging up the stairs..across the porch, throwing you through the open door into a world of horror… Nikon D90 / 18-200mm VR Lens A door on a old apartment.
