Photo of a pig’s nose. The nose belongs to ‘Kitty’, a lovely pig at the children’s farm, a few streets away from me. Featured on Red Bubble’s Homepage – 11 Juli 2009 (Thank you!)
What a wonderful moment this was, almost as suspenceful as when the girl is hiding under the bed and the killer walks into the room, his feet at the foot of the bed, the girl trembling, he is about to stoop down and find her but hears a noise, is distracted and walks away. Okay, so that’s a bit of an exageration but when you, as a photographer see that perfect shot slipping away similar horrors overcome you. Bear with me while I tell you just what happened. I was in Pakistan, in the back seat of my car with my mother, the driver talking me to my father’s office after a shoot. We stop at a red light, and a man in his car two lanes across drops his hand out the window. The moment I say his adorned hand I knew this would make a perfect addition to my portfolio of hand shots. I thank God for having my camera at my side, aim and miss it. The car in the next lane moves blocking my shot. When the car finally does move out of the way the man has taken his hand in and is now fiddling with his mustache. To make a long story short, after many failed attempts and curse words muttered under my breath he finally put his hand out the window again, moments before the light turned green and I got my shot. One shot. This shot.
Hope u like it!! Enjoy! _

Here’s a red Grevillea, a native to Australia,,, picked from my mother-in-law’s garden ;o)
I don’t often see monarch butterflies, so when I spotted this one at Hodges Gardens near Many, Louisiana, I employed my husband’s help in trying to get a good shot at it. Tommy stood guard at the upper level of the butterfly garden while I posted myself in the lower portion. Thanks to my husband’s keen eye, I finally relocated the elusive flutterer and got this photo of it to which I’ve applied some PS filters.

You know the grips in a water bottle… well that’s what this is. I took the aquafina label off, and put some colorful wrapping paper behind it. There was a few bubbles in the water, which looked cool with the texture of the bottle. It looks like a droplet continuously dropping into a puddle to me…haha. Enjoy! I used my 105mm macro lens for this.
This little finch found a place of safety on the bannister under my front porch during a chilly, rainy day. In fact, if you View Larger, you can detect a few raindrops on her tiny noggin. With her feathers all fluffed up, she looked cute and cozy and a bit plump so I called her Roly Poly. Maybe, like many of us, she’s thinking, “Got to shed some of that extra baggage in the upcoming New Year.” Oh, and one more thing, don’t you just love those tiny talons peeking out from her feathers? Looks like she’s just had a pedicure and she’s showing off her dainty toes!

My mom, Charmian, is the most AMAZING person – warm, talented, compassionate, energetic, accomplished, enthusiastic, sympathetic, witty, intelligent and loving. She can sail a yacht and play the drums. She cycles in bike races, and thinks nothing of cycling 80km just for fun. She can do woodwork, paint pictures and so many other things that I can’t list them all. And she can garden – her garden is extraordinary, full of lavish beauty and breathtakingly delightful. If I was any good at landscape photography I would have shown you just how good she is, but seeing as I’m not, I thought I would show you just one of the hundreds of stunning roses she grows. Taken after a morning of rain at her house in Magoebaskloof, South Africa.
