  • A burnt out car wreck I found in a local forest… and I was supposed to be looking for nice things to photograph! Humanity is destroying the Earth and killing its soul with its greed and disrepect… but if history is any indication Mother Earth will fight back and eventually out live us all. Our buildings will crumble, our cars rust and our bodies turn to dust…and the scars we have left will heal.

  • “Open for Business” Photography & Artwork / by Holly Kempe © An art gallery at the historic town of Silverton in outback New South Wales, Australia. “History with its flickering lamp stumbles along the trail of the past, trying to reconstruct its scenes, to revive its echoes, and kindle with pale gleams the passion of former days.” ~Winston Churchill Competition: Top Ten placement of the Outback Australia group.

  • Found this old moss covered VW Bug amongst the woods in rural Pennsylvania. It looks like it has been resting here for years, yet it still is smiling. When viewed in Large, it almost has a 3-D effect like Kevin pointed out. Herman is in this shot as well …..

  • A flight to Denver Colorado, a 5 hour drive to Togwotee Mountain Pass, USA at an altitude of 9767ft made for some spectacular scenary, but also made for the worst altitude sickness EVER. One by one our party fell ill, only I remained standing. I went out on Christmas Day, took various shots including this one from the car, I also took a video diary of the trip for everyone in bed. I should really dig it out as I remember they wern’t happy with my jolly commentary. Only after I got stuck in the snow did I begin to feel exceptionally ill. The trip was immediately cut short. I missed out on the Devils Tower Wyoming and Mount Rushmore. Dammit. Canon 10D, 70-200mm at 135mm, f/9.5, 1/90 sec, ISO 200. No filters used and mounted on the car door. A small amount of dust and scratches removed in photoshop. This shot is also available from a photobook collection called Rural Mementos by redtree.me © Copyright 2009 David Reid – redtree.me – All rights reserved.

  • An abandoned pickup truck in the countryside near Toowoomba, Queensland. / I popped a wireless flash in the truck to light the interior.
