Using a digital photo I shot at a local car show I created this image… I am an avid car enthusiast owning a 1960 Corvette since 1983. Often I’ll take my Vette to car shows and then I’ll spend most of my time not around my Corvette greeting people, but busying myself taking photos of the many cars and people…. The truck in the photo is a late 1940’s or early 1950’s Chevrolet pickup…. Software used was Paint Shop Pro ver 9 and Artweaver…

found this really rotten car in a parking lot in New Jersey Photo taken with Sony DSC-P200
This image was picked out of many that I took on the drive home tonight (no, I wasnt the one doing the driving =P) I’m posting it here because I like it quite a lot, but not sure if it’s completely working or not. So, comments and critiques are welcome, as I wll be using the number of comments and their content to decide whether or not to keep this one up. So, have at this one, and let me know what you think.
Taken at the Hobart Hot Rod Show, March 22 2008. The best $15 I’ve spent in a long time :o) I’m not much of a rev head but man I love the curves on these old American classics. The paint jobs, the chrome, the leather, the taillights and the fluffy dice hanging from the rear view mirror…Mm Mmmmm This is the first of a series of Hot Rod shots I’ll be uploading over the coming weeks.

In 2003 my wife, her sister, her friend and I flew to Paris. I was so excited because I had gotten a small taste of France in the ‘70s when I was stationed in Germany and had been dieing to get back. Visually a photographer’s dream shoot location. We were lost as soon as we stepped off the plane. My wife claimed she took 4 semesters of French and passed, yet when spoked to in French and I looked at her she would shrug her shoulders. So none of us spoke French. But we managed. We walked 90% of the time and I carried a back pack with a Nikon N-90s, Nikon 8008s, 20,35,50,135,180, and 500 MM lenses, tons of film, flash, tripod and my trusty Holga. (By the way, I was out of work 4 weeks recovering from a neck injury from carrying this backpack.) I had semi-planned ahead, knowing we were going to walk, for the series “A Walk Through Paris”. As we walked, I shot, crossed items off my list and we walked some more. This series was shot with a Holga camera, held together with a lot of black tape. Processed, scanned and then tinted with my custom sepia like action in Adobe Photoshop.

A painted composition showing just the nose of a ‘34 Ford says it all about the artistic flare used in the making of this vintage car. The watercolor by Paul Jackson is one of a series by the artist featuring modes of transportation.
I am not sure why, but when I seen this it just reminded me of the face of a crab, the bolts being the eyes, some eyebrows there also and the texture all around looking like the shell of the crab. Rusty old train car.. Nikon D90 / 18-200mm VR Lens
