This painting was made using toy vehicles and various tools. Following strict rules with decisions made using a random drawing system, this painting explores the boundaries of process, chance encounters and questions the authorship of the artist. The toy cars had brushes attached so that when they moved acros the canvas they made various marks depending on what the toy could do! Check out my website to find out more at www.markchadwick.co.uk

I don’t know what it is about old worn out things, but they just make me feel so hmmm comfortable would be a good word for it. They make me peaceful and calm, they tell me their story, they have the ability to capture a piece of time inside of them, they are just so much more than just old and useless to me. So I found a photo on the internet of this old Pontiac and it just said “PAINT ME”, so I did. I was a rough start, could not get into the feeling at first, so I let it rest for the night and this morning completed it. The 3d texture really brought out the rust on the car. So I hope you like it as much as I did making it ;-) Oh if you have by any change photo of these beautiful oldtimers or old motorcycles laying around, especially if they are old and rusty, please send me a copy if you like. I would be much obliged ;-) Also if you know some of these beauties in your surrounding laying around, could you make a photo for me. Where I live you will hardly ever find cars like these. This reminded me of something sweet and sour..the colors being sweet and bright like cotton candy, yet the rust adding a sourness or roughness to it…again some rust and very bright colorful graffiti on a train car Nikon D90 / 18-200 MM VR lens /

I am not sure why, but when I seen this it just reminded me of the face of a crab, the bolts being the eyes, some eyebrows there also and the texture all around looking like the shell of the crab. Rusty old train car.. Nikon D90 / 18-200mm VR Lens
