History is a gallery of pictures in which there are few originals and many copies. / ~ Alexis de Tocqueville / —-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—- / —-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—- / In this image I was hoping to capture the essence of the small outback community of Silverton that is so typically Australian. Not only were the Mad Max movies made there and numerous other movies and advertisements, it is a town full of history and wonderful eccentric artists. This is Peter Brown’s gallery perched on top of a barren hillside as you drive into town. His emu caricatures are a delight! / -—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-- / Thank you to everyone in Redbubbles Outback Australia group for voting Open for Business in the top ten of their competition.

Composite of multiple images of a derelick site in Eastern Washington. I wanted to use the images in some way, but it wasn’t until a model from ModelMeyhem offered to let me use this pic in one of my ‘creations’ that it came together. The descrepancy between her dress and manner….and the background just seemed to work to suggest an amusing anecdote…..Plus I love her posture….Thanks to Laura W for her image…...

Sometimes those days come where your like… I really should take a photo of this shouldn’t I? So I walked across to the road from the bus stop where I was waiting to be picked up. Seeing the sunset through the 80-200 peaked me out. I shot until the card was full and this is the first of 3 images… The special things in this shot 1. If you look closely at the sun it’s setting behind a building and the 2 towers actually make the sun look like it has horns. 2. The guy riding his bike past just at that moment… 3. The stop light and rich colour in the frame.

Black and white photo, sepia of an abandoned wreck in the forest. I found this abandoned Mustang in the mountains north of the city of Orange, California. It was once someone’s dream car but was not rejected and left to rot and rust under the trees and leaves of the forest. I hoped the empty beer case was not an indication of how it got wrecked. Hopefully no lives were lost at the time. HDR enhanced. Images Do Not Belong To The Public Domain. All images and writings are the copyright of the artist – © amari, amarica. All Rights Reserved.
