The only song I thought of when I did the HDR processing was “End of the World” by REM. It’s the end of the World as we know it and I feel fine… I took my Camera to Miranda Fair (our local shopping centre) today, because I was hoping to catch a few glimpses of the big storm brewing over Sydney. Instead I ended up with this.
This old FRAMO built until 1957 in Hainichen and Frankenberg, Germany and was one of the sights on a phototour I took with some other photographers from my photoclub. Taken in Steinfurt, Germany.
This work has been featured in the recent redbubble book The City . “The Big Smoke” also was announced the winner of the Breaking the Rules V: Straight vs Crooked Challenge in the Photography 101 Group Looking at the Sydney CBD from the rooftop parking at Broadway Shopping Centre. In the distance you can see the smoke coming in from backburning operations on the north side of the City. Please also visit my website alexkess.com . Cheers and Thanks, Alex
A wonderful little store full of nostalgia, tucked away in quiet little town. / I could look at the pictures and signs for hours here.

I love 58 Chevy’s…one of my favorite cars. An old shot that I was able to salvage because of my editing skills improving. Needless to say I am happy I was able to! Now generally as a rule of thumb, I would KO the powerlines, but this time I left them in intentionally. Why? Well I started to KO them then went back, after noticing that without them, the telephone pole is just kinda strange and they add a sense of perspective in this shot. Processed with Photoshop, LucisArts, Virtual Photographer, about 7 layers, and custom color retro actions using curves. —-—-—-—-—-- / More of my work can be seen on my website at http://jdebordphoto.com / All artwork is © John De Bord, All Rights Reserved. My second rendition of this shot…..I will miss this place as it has now closed down…sad….at least I was able to capture it while I could. HDR and LucisArt used in processing John
First of all, big kudos go to fellow bubbler Kevin Kroeker, who gave me a great idea of some add’l post processing steps which I had not tried before, until this image. HDR Image of an antique shiny black car with tons of chrome. I don’t know why, but I absolutely love this image. Hope you do as well. My art with 1000+ views
A continuation of the ‘car park’ theme. This one was inspired by Enrico Bettesworth’s ‘Underworld’ and Andrew Brown’s ‘Underground’. My challenge was to interpret this site differently from those two artists. I hope I have been partially successful in achieving this.
This Photo of a Ford Mustang belongs to M Dossat, Mary has kindly supplied me with this beautiful picture and i have applied my HDR treatment to it. / If you have not seen Mary’s work please check out her work. / Many thanks Mary for the great photo. An old Holden left for dead in Marysville, Victoria, Australia. Found it with all its windows smashed in and covered in Graffiti. HDR done in Photomatix, converted to black and white in Adobe Lightroom. Sales 8 Greeting Cards On Saturday the 7th of February my family lost our home away from home at Marysville, as well as our two Rhodesian Ridgebacks and our Abyssinian cat. My condolences go to anyone who also lost family, friends or property on this terrible weekend, and I know deep down that Marysville will be back and better than ever, in the near future… Click here for my other photos of cars! a gloomy sky and a sinister car boot
Hi all, been away for quite a while now, hope you are all well. I clicked on RB yesterday for the first time in ages and was pleased to see the high standard has still been maintained, this inspired me to try and make time for photography again, i had thousands of photos i had taken but not done anything with, so this morning before i went to work i got up and did this, i thought it was quite topical for the weather we are having here in England at the moment. It is a village scene from our local village Wentworth. Hope you like it. / Dave.
A 49 Mercury in mint condition. I would have to say that if I had to choose a dream car…This is it!!! / I love this car. The color rocks and the way they chopped it Rocks even more!!! / I took this shot a couple weeks back but there was a ton of nonesense in the bg. So I have been waiting for the perfect sky shot to use as a bg and then layered the car in it with CS3. / I have included the original image just to show the change…I think its awesome!!! / 3 Shot HDR done in Photomatix and then layered in PS CS3 and then enhanced the dark and shadows in LR… / Mr Nikon D60 DSLR /
Location: Rancho Cordova California / Technique: HDR, Layering & Fractalized / Workflow: HDRd in Matix – Layered in Cs4 – Fractalized / Equip: Canon 5D OG A wee bit late and a couple too many drinks while editing this image. Actually scrolled down most of the color palette and basically did a “eeni meeni miny mo” to select a color (#3c240a) and worked off the selection, hence a very busy & cluttered image. Im thinking this is not gonna stay on the bubble very long. but this image did put a smile on my face because when folks say Dont Drink & Drive, It should also apply to Photographers Dont Drink & Edit!!!
