I suppose you can say I have always been a sucker for old cars, especially Hotrods. There is something about the design and style of the years gone by, that todays designers in the automotive world have lost…the subtle curves of the body line, the way the trim fits along the body, and the overall composition and style….rolling sculpture. Elegance and style which is no longer created by the manufacturers but now recreated by those who spend many a late night out in the garage building a Kustom, wielding the torch, throwing the lead, and hammering the seams. Art it one of it’s most purest forms. Creativity personified. This is quite an older shot but remains one of my favorites, the color in this and the reflection caught my eye when I first captured it. I am not a huge fan of tri-year Chevy’s, but this ‘56 was just to good to pass up. Hope you all like it as much as I do / —-John / —-—-—-—-—-—-—— See more on my website jdebordphoto.com / All artwork is © John De Bord, All Rights Reserved. This stencil is a recreation of one of my earlier stencils. Inspired by my passion for surfing and the culture surrounding it. Dawn Patrol is based on the journey of looking for the perfect surf break at dawn. This piece is 1 of 2 utilising the same stencil and composition of / works I’ve on Red Bubble at the moment.

This is a detail shot taken of a 1957 Chrysler Imperial. The car was being shown at the 2008 Eyes on Design auto show held at the Edsel and Eleanor Ford Mansion in Grosse Pointe Shores, Michigan. The show had many vehicles from different time periods but all were selected for their design details. This is a simple shot of the antenna and passenger side mirror. I just liked the way the chrome looked against the color of the car. This, combined with the lines created by the hood and fender made the shot interesting to me. Comments and constructive criticisms are welcome. Thanks!

It was a hot summer day at Aldinga Beach about 38c, I took my family to the beach. We parked the car on the beach, my nephew “DJ” spilt his coke on my car. Then the wind tossed the sand onto my car. I thought it was a great effect. So if you run out of ideas take your car down to the beach & cover it in coke!! 5th march 2008 Add me to your watch list if you like / My most popular imges / Not my Fav’s but the most viewed images of mine on Redbubble
