The Cape Otway lighthouse, at the bottom of Cape Otway, off the Great Ocean Road in western Victoria (Australia). See this website for more historical information about it: http://www.lighthouse.net.au/lights/VIC/Cape%20Otway/Cape%20Otway.htm After posting this image for critique on DSLRUsers.com (a photo forum I frequent), a couple of people suggested a wider crop and to perhaps lighten the image a bit. I did so, and have received favourable response. As such I have replaced the original that was here with the reworked image.

I shot this photo earlier this year down at Cape Schanck on the Mornington Peninsula (Victoria). It’s part of a new personal project I’m working on. It was one of those mornings where everything just came together nicely. Of all the photos I’ve ever shot, this is one of my favourites.

A rough day on the beach in Byron Bay does not deter the keen surfers from getting a peice of the action. Notice the rays of sunlight coming through the clouds down towards the people entering the surf.

This image is taken from above as well but this view is to the left of the Lighthouse railings and I think more to see on this side.

Streaks of moving water with the early morning sun lighting them up.

The sand dunes on the Cape are a never ending and ever changing source of inspiration for me. This was taken near sunset close to the Herring Cove Beach.

Two fishing boats sit in the early morning sun at the wharf in Provincetown Harbor, awaiting the start to their day…

I saw this fantastic tree right near the tip of Cape York (the nothern most point of the Australian mainland). It had a unique character all of its own as it stood defiantly out on the tidal sandflat. Part of it’s personality was an amazing ‘hole’ through it’s trunk… I returned at dawn the following morning to attempt to capture it’s uniqueness to me forever. / / / EOS A2, Fuji Velvia 50. / ©T.Middleton2007 —-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—— / / / see more of my black and white photography by clicking on the image below / /
