  • This large fishing boat is taking a day off from the hustle and bustle of commercial fishing.

  • Sunrise on Provincetown Harbor. Looking out on the water at sunrise, when the streets are empty and only the fishermen and the delivery people are out and about.

  • Blossom’s_Photo_Gallery Colourful Fishing Floats on Display Some of the many fishing floats and odds and ends, that get washed up here at Captain Billy Landing, Cape York Peninsula, Far North Queensland. A better idea than leaving it scattered on the beach! 100% of proceeds received from Redbubble in respect to sales of “Colourful Fishing Floats on Display” will be donated to “thegreataustraliancancerbushwalk” for the Cancer Council. • I love fishing boats, and this collection had such a vibrant range of colours I couldn’t help but capture them. Taken from the Robben Island ferry in Cape Town earlier this year.

  • I love shooting in low light, and mixing light sources. This is early evening on Fish Hoek beach.

  • Fish Hoek, Western Cape Province, near Cape Town, South Africa. I guess the point of continually shooting these setting-sun blurry-water landscapes is to learn and improve your skill as a photographer. The fact is, I enjoy shooting them so much, that I just cant stop myself! I do think that I learn from each image though, mine and my fellow Bubblers. Plus no time spent post-processing in Photoshop is wasted. Avanté!

  • Fish Hoek, Western Cape province, South Africa The same as Fish Hoek walkway 1, but different :)

  • Digital panoramic of Fish Hoek beach, in the Western Cape Province of South Africa

  • You guessed it! Fish Hoek beach in the Western Cape of South Africa :)+) I’m lucky enough to be able to commute to work by train. (SA does not have an extensive commuter rail system.) The tracks run along the shore of the Cape peninsula for the first 15 minutes of my journey, before snaking inland. It’s whale season here at the moment, and I frequently spot Southern Right wales during my daily commute, pretty special I think!

  • Among the most important commercial activities in Cape Coast, Ghana is its commercial fishing fleet. Providing support to those who ply the ocean currents are the folks who repair the nets, process the fish and perform other economic activities essential to the trade. This means that the opportunities for great images begins in the water and carries on throughout the city but especially in the areas directly adjacent to the water. These fishing shanties provide shelter for those working in these ancillary economic activities as well as storage for much of the gear. —-—-—— / Wayne King travels regularly to Africa as a businesses consultant, nonprofit social entrepreneur and tour guide. • I have to acknowledge a friend of mine (Liz) in naming this one “Puff Deady”! This petrified puffer fish was taken on Cape Leveque Eastern Beach at low tide …. this poor bugger obviously wasn’t quite fast enough to beat the outgoing tide. On a positive note though – he was super still whilst I was taking the shot! Olympus E-510 DSLR 1st in the March Avatar Challenge – Flotsam and Jetsam group – 28th February 2009. Thanks to all who voted for Puff! 100 views – June 2009

  • Seaside view of the ocean along the coast in Woods Hole, MA. on Cape Cod. Taken with a Canon XTI. / f/8 / 1/4000 / ISO-100 / focal length- 300mm

  • On Cape Cod we have fabulous beaches with miles of sand and shells to entertain visitors and residents. This beach is in Sandwich which is the first town you reach when you come over the bridge. We have two bridges to come to this island.

  • A small harbor in Barnstable which is home to both commerical fishing boats as well as small craft and tour boats. Taken with a Canon XTI. / f/8 / ISO-100 / 1/400 sec / 24mm

  • Well, I finally painted and mounted the tuna mosaic shared previously. The final piece is 40 inches (1 inch = 2.54 cm) by 32 inches. This photo was taken with a Nikon D90 DSLR and a Sigma 17-70 mm lens in our family room. The photo was cropped and colors corrected in PaintShop Pro. The mosaic was created on thin cement board with painted pieces of surf clam seashells except for the light part of the body, the shells are natural. The fin is coming out about 4 inches and is made from 2 oyster shells. All the shells for this project were gathered in Cape May, New Jersey, USA. The background was painted with acrylics using various shape sponge brushes. / BEFORE / / Photo taken and uploaded 1-3-10 / / / Featured in New Jersey Scenery 1-6-10
