The visibility was pretty poor during the dive (you’ll notice a little sandstorm in the background if you view the image large), but these sad guys were fairly cooperative today. :-) / / Schooling Threadfin Pearl Perches at Ningaloo Reef, Western Australia Equipment: CANON 5D, SIGMA 15mm f2.8 EX DG, IKELITE Housing, 2x IKELITE DS125 Strobes Image was featured in Underwater & Sealife and IPA -International Photographers Alliance More ‘Underwater Rush Hours’: / © aabz-imaging / ALL RIGHTS RESERVED
Well, I finally painted and mounted the tuna mosaic shared previously. The final piece is 40 inches (1 inch = 2.54 cm) by 32 inches. This photo was taken with a Nikon D90 DSLR and a Sigma 17-70 mm lens in our family room. The photo was cropped and colors corrected in PaintShop Pro. The mosaic was created on thin cement board with painted pieces of surf clam seashells except for the light part of the body, the shells are natural. The fin is coming out about 4 inches and is made from 2 oyster shells. All the shells for this project were gathered in Cape May, New Jersey, USA. The background was painted with acrylics using various shape sponge brushes. / BEFORE / / Photo taken and uploaded 1-3-10 / / / Featured in New Jersey Scenery 1-6-10 / 1 Sale Greeting Card 1-9-10 / Featured in Fishlike 2-21-10

POTD – Photo Of The Day. Today I finally got my act together and began a photo of the day project. I will make it my aim to take a new photo every day and upload it to redbubble for a month and hopefully a year. Here goes… Cape Town Aquarium.

False Bay in Fish Hoek on the Eastern coast of the peninsula of the Western Cape, near Cape Town, South Africa. I’ve deliberately been excluding man-made objects from the majority of my landscapes. I’ve been contemplating a new theme for my pictures… for now I’ll start including more man-made structures in my sea- and landscapes. I’m also enjoying DCE tools HDR of late. I appreciate any honest crit, please dont hesitate to point out what you dont like.

This is our now 10-year-old Labrador, Ripper, in, er, peak condition! It looks as though he’s asking if Matt has had any bites, when in reality he’s probably just wondering why a perfectly edible pilchard was thrown, on the end of a hook, into the sea (I’m happy to say he’s no longer the fat lab he was in this photo, taken around 2000).
