This painting is a memory of a trip my husband and I took earlier this year to the beautiful island. Uluru, (Ayres Rock) stands proud in the middle of the Australian Desert with its brilliant red earth. The rock dates back 500 million years. The Australian landscape is such an inspiration. This for you Terez , my lovely daughter , she died when she was nearly 15 …… Thank you my friends your comments and support mean a lot to me. I had this pain bottled up in me so so long… but I knew and hoped with time passing things will change and turn out good… I was right, things started to unfold last week and I could just see and feel it. Working with this wonderful model just inspired me and brought all those feelings up from my heart, bones and my most inner part. This is an acrylic painting of a nutmeg seashell at dusk. This treasure of a shell is mainly found in tropical regions and vary in shape and size. Seashells have held a prominent place in our culture, they have been used as money, medicine, ornaments and objects of art. A loose, colourful, watercolour on Arches paper created from my imagination to brighten your day! Painted wet on wet and I let the colours do their own thing and then I shaped the painting. A magical place to visit when we dream. “Please come take my hand, / and walk beside me into my fantasy land”.... See the rainbow colours all around, / it is so peaceful here and the only sound / is water lapping gently, trees swaying in the breeze, / leave your worries behind for what you see will please. The very heart of your being / will not believe what you are seeing. / Your spirit will be lifted your soul will start singing, / it all makes sense now, life is for loving, sharing and giving. Experimenting with watercolours today I created this loose one out of my imagination picturing a peaceful place full of colour and wonder. 10×12” watercolour on Arches paper. Twilight ‘Tis the light between day and night / the glow of the sky is such a sight. / The time in between hanging in the air / the rays of light proud in their glare. Remember the saying: Red Sky at Night; Shepherd’s Delight / Red Sky in the Morning, Shepherd’s Warning! One of the most persistent of the weather sayings used by sailors as well as shepherds. There were no weather forecasts, as such in the days gone by, and one had to make their own predictions. This is a loose watercolour 8×10”painted with two colours only Red and Green (Cadmium Red and Sap Green) and also mxing the two together to produce darker colours.
