This for you Terez , my lovely daughter , she died when she was nearly 15 …… Thank you my friends your comments and support mean a lot to me. I had this pain bottled up in me so so long… but I knew and hoped with time passing things will change and turn out good… I was right, things started to unfold last week and I could just see and feel it. Working with this wonderful model just inspired me and brought all those feelings up from my heart, bones and my most inner part. This is an acrylic painting of a nutmeg seashell at dusk. This treasure of a shell is mainly found in tropical regions and vary in shape and size. Seashells have held a prominent place in our culture, they have been used as money, medicine, ornaments and objects of art. These natural wonders which are strewn along the beaches like jewels from the sea, are created by snails, clams, scallops and other marine mollusks. This is a drawing I did on sketching paper about a year ago, and I found it yesterday and thought I would add some acrylic paint to it. I remember drawing it at the time and thinking that we are so connected to the earth around us. From nature we abound / emerging slowly from the ground / to live our lives as best we can / then once again returning to the land…..

The magnificent Daintree Forest is located in tropical far north Queensland, Australia. This world heritage listed forest is over 135 million years old – the oldest in the world and spans 1,200 square kilometres. It is home to the highest number of plant and animal species that are rare, or threatened with extinction anywhere in the world. It surely is the most diverse and beautiful example of mother nature at its very best. “I walked alone into no man’s land / and with my eyes witnessed the beauty of nature’s hand. / Green veils of leaves and trees stood tall / Babbling sounds of water and then a bird’s call. / Standing proud surviving all time, / this magnifcent forest forever in its prime! Hope you enjoy my pastel painting using faber castell pencils with some hard pastels drawn on canson paper. This is just a very small part of this tranquil and magical forest. Inspiration for this painting came from my daughter’s photograph called Daintree Bliss which is just one of her many beautiful photos:tracyleephoto“
