Not much is known about the Asian Golden Cat. It is a rather elusive predator, and most of what is known about it has been found out in captivity. The Asian Golden Cat lives throughout Southeast Asia, ranging from Tibet and Nepal to Southern China, India, and Sumatra. It prefers forest habitats interspersed with rocky areas, and is found in deciduous, subtropical evergreen, and tropical rainforests. The Asian Golden Cat is occasionally found in more open terrain. It ranges from the lowlands to altitudes of up to 3000 meters in the Himalayas. The exact population of the Asian Golden Cat is unknown. It is hunted for its fur and, increasingly, for its bones in traditional Chinese medicine. However, the greatest risk posed towards the species is habitat destruction. There are few of these felines in zoos, and they do not breed well in captivity. If you would like to buy a card, print or poster just go to ‘buy/preview’

Bengal Tigers Critically Endangered The Bengal tiger, or Royal Bengal tiger (Panthera tigris tigris or Panthera tigris bengalensis) is a subspecies of tiger primarily found in Bangladesh, India, and also Nepal, Bhutan, Myanmar and southern Tibet. The white bengel tiger is not an albino, it has blue eyes. The white coat and light features are caused by a recessive gene. Very few survive in the wild because they do not have the ability to camoflauge themselves in their suroundings. Sadly, there are those who breed them for their exotic looks all for money. Because they occur so rarely, many orange tigers die or are mistreated in the process. Tigers are solitary hunters. They love the water, and are not afraid to chase their prey down into the water. In fact, this is how tigers often get food. The wait for an animal to be drinking at a water hole, then scares the animal into the water, where the tiger will chase it farther into deeper waters, making it easier to catch. Tigers have retractable claws. This enables them to walk through rocky, grassy, muddy, or sandy areas without dulling their claws, which they need to hunt with. Comments about this work This shot was underexposed with a great deal of noise. I thought it too precious to delete, so I worked it like crazy with filters, colorizing, etc. I’m rather happy with the outcome considering it was otherwise headed for the recycle bin. Highly edited!

Hence the name I chose aftwerwards (translating as ‘From here to Paracas’). / / © 2009 by Nodakami / www.nodakami.com

Blossom’s_Photo_Gallery Purple Foxglove (Digitalis purpurea) Common names: Foxglove, Purple Foxglove or Lady’s Glove Came across these beauties growing wild by the roadside. The foxglove is a familiar tall herb that produces 20-80 nodding flowers on a long spike. The tube-like flowers are pinkish-purple in colour, with an area of white inside the tube, which features darker purple spots. The common name derives from the Anglo-Saxon ‘foxes glofa’ meaning foxes gloves, and refers to the tubular flowers, which are suggestive of the gloves of a small animal. The flowers were also known as ‘witches’ thimbles’ by Medieval herbalists. Canon PowerShot A650 IS Shutter Speed: 1/100sec / Aperture: F4.8 / ISO: 200

/ We stopped by Minter Gardens on our way home from our roadtrip to Harrison BC in October…..I took a couple of photographs before I realized that the garden was actually closed to the public and we were not supposed to be there (oops). The original photograph was taken using the pop art filter in camera, which made the colour looks quite psychedelic . I have added several texture layers and have desaturated the colours a bit (believe it or not). I realize this won’t appeal to everyone, but as a lover of strong and bold colour I am kind of partial to it :))
