A pretty pink rose …
A painting of a rose. Just as the varnish was drying, I knocked it over. It fell face down in the garage and got covered in dirt and grit. Ohhh noo. I damaged it quite a bit and had to do a salvage job. Based on a painting by Alexie Antonov. 250 mm x 300 mm. Acrylic on Canvas
I photographed a picture frame and then made a montage using a number of flower photo’s I have captured in the last 12 months. The editing was done in Paint Shop Pro. Each flower was cut away from it’s background using the selection tool and then placed where I wanted it in the scene, on it’s own layer. I used the Deform Tool to scale down all of the flowers, except the Frangiapani. I made sure to reduce the length and the width of the flowers in equal percentages so that their shapes were not distorted which would have degraded the image quality.

This is probably the strangest thing I have ever run into on a hike. My husband and I were hiking on our honeymoon on Salt Spring Island when we came across an artificial black rose, a string a pearls and a piece of lace fastened to a tree branch out in the middle of nowhere.
