  • PINNACLE OF TRUTH
    by linaji

Scathes my lack of intention / Attacks my dullard fears / Presses me on / And pulls the reigns of attention / Back from unconscious years.

I / wrote this piece when I finished the Art..

  • Blood Life Spills O'er Canvas of Death
    by Symmetry44

Tyrant is s/he, labor resounds / Stroke by stroke morbidity reaps

This poem was written several years ago. It pertains to the artist and the torment many artists can face when trying to create “the perfect piece of art.” / To give so much of oneself for such a selfless cause is very telling of each of us who indulge in such tumultuous undertakings all too often, but in the end, more times than not, it is more than worth the effort. / This was written under the guise that art is an endeavor of blood, sweat and tears, therefore please try and read it in the vein that as we give our hearts, minds and souls in order to create the art that others can and hopefully will relate to in some light, so too seek our own in having done so. It just seems to fit so nicely on this site with all the great art and artists who work so hard to create the beautiful artwork we are privileged to see. Enjoy…

    by N Kumar Bellani

  • Were These Mere Co-incidents...
    by N Kumar Bellani

I have a strange feeling that some of my paintings have an element of foreboding…intuition…premonition…some strange connection with some …

Thank you for this feature ‘Masterpieces: Literary Workshop’ Group… / ...the same group of rowdy kids who’d hurled raw eggs on me and my paintings came-up and one of them, sounding more jeering than informing me with any sympathy, said to me that “there’s been a great earthquake and a giant tidal wave in India today…I seemed to have lost my ground and I panicked…worried more about my kids and my family back in India… The rest is history… Tsunami had struck…the TV said….. ...In October 2004 while I was staying at Dr. R.S. Bola’s house on 46, Amberley Road, Slough, SL2 2LR, England, I had no way of knowing that in the wildest of my imagination that England could ever see floods, ever. I had no notion at all. THE FLOODS CAME TO ENGLAND IN THE SUMMER OF 2007, WHICH IS HISTORY AS WELL… ...SO HOW DID IT EVER OCCUR TO ME TO PAINT A TSUNAMI WHEN I’D NEVER EVEN HEARD THE WORD BEFORE?…OR PAINTING ’ A PLACE I KNOW’... I HAVE NO EXPLANATION, DO YOU OR ANYONE ?...

    by Shelleymay

I need colour, the stroke of the brush, the passion of your focus

A blank canvas sometimes fills with me doubt, will I do it justice, do I have the right to call myself artist. / Then the first touch of the brush on canvas, the magic happens! / It feels natural, it feels right

  • Working within the Dual Existence Creationism Philosophy
    by MonstroUrban

Is the artist destroying by creating an anti-aesthetic image even though he has not created an image to destroy?

This is my statement about working within the DECBQM philosophy. I have posted it to allow better explanation of my philosophy. I really appreciate your interest and hope you comment on it in one way or the other. This is the basis of my creative output and my hope is that it will inspire others to test its merits and work within it. I hope it has not bored many of its readers.
