I have produced hundreds of scribbles, sketches, drawings, cartoons and paintings over the years, yet when someone asks me how I come up with ideas for work I tell them I’m really not sure. A truly original idea for a piece of art is always a gift from somewhere else, and you just hope and pray it might happen again. I have thought about this subject a lot, about where inspiration or stream of consciousness comes from. The result was a large oil painting titled “Waiting for Inspiration”. It portrays a painter sitting on the floor of his studio adjacent to a large blank canvas propped up against the wall. A dirt road runs through the middle of the room, past the canvas and off into the distance. / The painter I guess is me, waiting to thumb that lift, to take that ride, to catch that inspiration.. before it passes through. / - – - – - – - – - – - – - – - – - – - – - – - – - – - – - - - – - – - – - – - – - – - – - – - – - – - – - – - – - – - – /

Blossom’s_Photo_Gallery Snow Gum (Eucalyptus pauciflora) A medium-sized, often crooked tree has a short trunk to 1m diameter. It is low-branching with a spreading open crown. It sheds its bark in irregular patches in autumn, leaving a smooth white to yellow, olive-green or brown surface, occasionally with scribbly markings from insect lavae. Flowers appear in spring and early summer. They are white or cream. Snow Gum – Series 2 – Was chosen for Nature’s Macro Canvas’ Avatar of the Week (5th July 2008).

My intention when I did this painting was to take an everyday situation – like looking out for the post-man and turning it into a vibrant and alive moment in time! / No matter how small and trivial things may seem – there is always something else going on: one just has to take a look at that poor fish! I lik this painting, my friends say it makes them feel like ”...putting on their dancing shoes!” / (It’s a frustrating fact, but for some reason this painting just won’t upload to the right proportions – it’s living it’s title to the full – and just NOT conforming!) Find me a cheekier beef horse than this, and I’ll gladly give you my favourite teapot. Detail, colour, taste and pure cheek – this cheeky cow’s got the lot. To quote what she said to me just after I took the picture: “Moo”. And you can’t argue with that. Proud of your kitchen? Imagine this beauty on your wall. As a picture, I mean. Not the actual cow. Migaloo is a mixed media production on canvas textured paper. Gazing out to sea on a warm summer day, she notices something, some movement further out to see, was that a splash or just the sea crashing on a bombie or coral reef out there? squinting…..squinting…..squinting…..... oh my! it’s a white whale!....Migaloo no less!

Ive never tried something like this before. Never an artwork emotionally so intense. Would love to thank sandra baraci for the wonderful collab. She has been painting the stunning image of `tracie76 portrait for a while now, which she abandoned in the middle. I really wanted to complete it in my form, and I did. / She says she found the motivation back again to finish the canvas, which is an honour . Thankyou both of you for the wonderful experience.
