  • Can you imagine… Being born into a world that buys and sells you like a piece of meat at a market? Being forced to work long hours that most adults cannot imagine? Being brain washed into thinking that your self worth is zero? Can you imagine… Never feeling the love of family or parents? Never knowing what it is to be free let alone have the hope or dream of freedom? Never being allowed the simplest of human rights? All of the earnings for the sales of items relating to “My daughter is an Asian slave child” parts one and two here on Red Bubble will be donated to the World Children’s Fund. I would like to thank my daughter Shelby for helping in the creating of this and the up-coming Part Two. Original is oil on canvas: 24” x 30”

Although I created this image in 2007, and had titled it “Girls,” I didn’t fully realize what it meant until just this week. A father is convicted of keeping his daughter locked up as a sex slave for 24 years. Daughter now 42. Many females are enslaved, murdered, raped, tortured all over the world, and many more will remain faceless to us. Stop, think, and listen.

  • Acrylic on Acrylic board. By Kyle Bultman, aged 11. Exploring acrylic painting with some of my students. Kyle used an online image as reference. I helped him with details, as he is just starting out in drawing and painting. In painting the image, we followed a very exacting regime, essentially adopting/adapting the ‘Flemish’ technique as closely as possible. A bit ambitious perhaps, but the students are ‘learning’ and the technique seemed to require less ‘tidying up’ and fixing. The painting in progress/ grey toned ‘underpainting’: Finished

  • 29”x 34” -acrylic on canvas Green Tara is a Goddess – female Buddha – who helps in overcoming fear and anxieties. Tara is traditionally shown holding a lotus flower. I originally intended to paint a lotus too, but the child emerged instead..such is the way of the creative process. My depiction of Tara is of a compassionate, mothering Buddha who is protecting the child and keeping fears away. Green Tara was featured in the Group: Incredible India
