  • Pautahanui Stream Observed Sometimes Later Than Ever Before

  • Peace is not an absence of war, it is a virtue, a state of mind, a disposition for benevolence, confidence, justice. / / Baruch Spinoza (1632 – 1677)

  • The top part of the image is the visual testimony to the incredibly powerful forces which shape the skies, including the volatile ones around this impressive volcano. The clouds of different contours and consistencies are sometimes shifted in seemingly conflicting directions, at different heights, in accordance to the latest moods of the ruling winds to reveal clearly these invisible currents in a kind of airborne stratum. What really caught my attention here was the tidy regimented file of fluffy clouds just below the snowline, moving orderly from left to right and straight into the rage of the mountain’s executive arm, its resident wind. Its force showed no mercy as the victims were turned and twisted and consequently ripped into the smallest of pieces, some of them still visible floating hopelessly around for a while, before departing into oblivion at such a speed it made the whole incident hard to believe. The result of the carnage on the land below could be observed as a mishmash of fast moving patterns, shades and filtered lights, like the event was a product of play with some heavenly kaleidoscope. Hard to believe indeed. The real question is how to convey an impression of this kind, one that affects all of your senses to some extent and condense it into one dimensional media as a photograph is. In fact, it’s impossible. This image is the next best thing.

  • Ungwa/Fada Village, remote Nigeria. I knocked on the door of a precious Grandmother who I met while ministering t=in the village last December 2007, expecting her to be in, but instead it was little Alice who opened the door. When she saw me, she was so surprised and stood looking at me without any words. The rest of the Mission team burst out laughing and one elder rolled on the ground with uncontrollable giggles. Eventually Alice produced a smile, but would not move. I love this shot as it made us all laugh in what was a very difficult day emotionally as we did what we could to help the extreme poor and sick in this isolated village. / Alice is one of three orphans cared for by her Grandmother. • Nobody in the village knew his name or where he came from. Abandoned and very sick, he came slowly to us and just sat down at my feet. My deep passion to help those who are very much less fortunate that we are burn every second of each day. I am deeply Inspired By the suffering and desperate struggle of these often abandoned children, to reach out even more to help them in their hour of need. Its not what we take with us when we die, as we shall take no wealth or materials with us. it is what we can leave behind that really matters to God. To leave clean water wells, the ability to grow good quality food, Medical care is what really motivates me. I am sorry that I seem to upload hard sometimes unpleasant images on my site, but I cannot hide the real truth about the suffering in extreme and isolated areas of remote Africa. You won’t see images of this type on Safari brochures or tourist holiday websites. Yet children like this little boy suffer so much. We can together help many children like this precious child. Philadelphia Mission [Reg No: 1049410] is a British charity working with extreme poor in isolated and rural villages in Africa. We are ALL unpaid volunteers and we with a few friends cover all charity overheads and expenses, which are small. ALL DONATIONS WE RECEIVE GOES TOWARD THESE PRECIOUS PEOPLE. • PLEASE READ THIS. / Taken in Ungwa/fada village, in remote Nigeria. This was not staged for a photographs, I wasa walking around the remmote village early in the morning and saw this beautiful child praying. These villagers are extremely poor, and many are sick. Their well has caved in and Rickets is rampant here. No hospitals, or school within easy reach, and there is no main roads for 30 miles. We are helping as many as we can. My Passion and calling in life is to do more than just Preach the Gospel of Jesus Christ to these poor people, but to with your help and Gods increase meet their needs and help them live better lives. This is my attempt to add something different to the original. I am very new to Paintshop pro and copy and pasting images into other Photographs. • This is a shot I took after shooting One Night Under the Milky Way I brought the ISO down from 3200 to 100 of course I had to compensate by opening up the shutter for a longer period! That night, Monday July 20, 2009, I was out about 3 hours and I could see this bright object just above the horizon to my left and in what must have been about a 2 hour duration is had only traveled about 15 or 20 degrees in the sky. I’m not completely sure but I think it is the International Space Station and that night it had the Space Shuttle docked to it! Camera Model Canon EOS 50D / Firmware Firmware Version 1.0.2 / Shooting Date/Time 7/21/2009 12:29:44 AM / Tv( Shutter Speed ) 1462 / Av( Aperture Value ) 4.0 / ISO Speed 100 / Lens EF-S18-200mm f/3.5-5.6 IS / Focal Length 18.0mm “Star Trail” was shot at Flamber Head on Newfoundland’s East Coast Trail For more information please visit Brian’s Homepage

  • The Popo Agie River near Lander, Wy, disappears dramatically into a cavern, runs underground for one quarter of a mile, and then reappears in a picturesque, calm pool called “The Rise”. This water is teeming with huge hungry trout… sorry, no fishing, but there is fish food available if you have change in your pocket… and provides a stunning mirror for the fall color in September. Sinks Canyon, Canon 40D, f 32, 1/5, focal length 190mm, tripod. Featured in Colors of Water group, August 2009 – thanks!

  • They are picturesque, but finding the right aspen trees to illustrate the beauty of the fall season is harden than I ever imagine. Canon 40D, f32, 30, focal length 340mm, outside Jackson, Wy.

  • Crystal Caves, Bermuda Underground fresh water caves in Bermuda. The temperture above ground was well above 30 Celsius, while the temperature in caves was probably only 15. The water was verrry cold to swim in. “You can go to heaven if you want. I’d rather stay in Bermuda.” – Mark Twain Colours were unchanged as well.

  • Saint Peters Cathedral / North Adelaide, South Australia. Canon 50D / 10-20mm Click image for larger preview.

  • Afternoon in November on Onion Lake between Kitimat and Terrace, B.C. Canada. 3 exp. 2ev’s tonemapped, tripod

  • My newest photo compilation. The scenery is a long exposure photograph taken minutes before sunrise on Walkerville beach in Victoria, Australia (see Tide and Painted Sunrise for other photographs from the same beach). The birds were photographed just after sunset from my backyard last week, I knew I could use them for something more interesting then them by them selves. Also a gentle texture was added to enhance the mood. / Hope you like it. Canon EOS 450D EF-S 55-250mm Converted form RAW
