  • Bowness Park, Calgary, Alberta circa 1972. / This is a shot I took many, many years ago and I have tried to replicate its beauty countless times. / This is the kind of shot that stands the test of time and will always remain a favorite.

  • photograph, Tahiti.

  • Lone man on Lake Atitlan, Guatemala.

  • Getting ready for a canoe ride very early in the morning at sunrise.

  • O’Tahiti Nui, a lagoon and verdent landscape surrounded by emerald turquoise seas, trade winds gently pressing upon the shore line, a lone person canoes with no destination. Perhaps this sounds romantic, fantastical and the idea of a brilliant holiday, though it is also a lament, a ode to things past as well as a hope for things future, yes…. O’Tahiti Nui, the real Tahiti…............ O’Tahiti Nui is a title reserved for the larger part of the island of Tahiti, though this collage is a composite of many of the islands that dot central polynesia, currently known as French Polynesia…..............A place one day i plan on getting truly lost in, who knows one day i might not return?

  • Canoes await the day’s adventure on Moraine Lake, Banff National Park – Alberta, Canada

  • It was early evening, just before darkness fell and I wanted to get one last shot! The boats anchored along the dock looked so peaceful and moved slightly with the ripples of the water. I remembered how much I love sitting in a boat or canoe in the middle of a lake and … well … SINGING AT THE TOP OF MY LUNGS! Yepper … I do. But NEVER when there is a human audience! So don’t fear if you ever see me out in a canoe in the middle of a lake! :) Judi

  • semi abstract contemporary painting

  • “Lady Fingers” ~ Canoes in Uncertain, Texas ~ July 2008

  • Standing on the rocks at the northern end of Gigha (gee-a) I spotted a lone canoe hiding behind the rocks across the little bay as a rain squall was fasr approaching!

  • Painting / egg tempera on wood panel 32” x 24” (81cm x 61cm) A canoe approaches Caron Island close to Rossport Campground on the north shore of Lake Superior. / The view is looking west, towards the twilight tones of the setting sun.

  • I blended two layers (Watkins Glen waterfall) and a background picture together using Photoshop CS3. I used a Minolta Dimage Z6 on auto settings. /

  • The only sounds were the occasional ‘Splish’ and ‘Sploosh’ from the paddle, gorgeous…

  • This image was taken back in my film days. Scanned into the computer and made a few minor adjustments, the saturation was increased and it was also sharpened a little. Taken at Lakes Park, Ft. Myers, FL.

  • . Featured in the calendar “Moonlight Bay”. .

  • Taken with a Canon Rebel XTi camera and selective coloring. Taken at a local pond close to my home. BEST VIEW LARGER! /

  • Feature Image—Nikon DSLR Users Group Early in the morning before the bus loads arrived we had our time with the lake. The clouds were still low, the canoes idle, the sun still making its way. One of our favourite slices in time. From a day at Lake Moraine, Alberta Canada – July 2008 / Banff National Park (National). / “Magic on Moraine Lake” Banff National Park Alberta – Canada is a selection of images from a couple of early mornings with the lake. Nikon D40x / 18-55 Nikkor lens

  • Canada Day – July 1st, 2009….. a truck pulled up in front of our house with EIGHT canoes on it.. and of course I couldn’t resist snapping a few photos!!! They (and our neighbors canoe) were all destined for a canoe trip down the Assiniboine River (not too far from our home) to a park several miles away in celebration of Canada Day!!

  • This was taken at Kluane National Park, on the edge of Lake Kathleen in Haines Junction in Canada’s Yukon on 1 September last year. A couple had just unloaded this canoe and carried it to the edge of the water. I thought the slim red hull was the perfect foil for the fall colours, the snow-capped mountains and the moody grey clouds. I do not crop, enhance or post-edit my work in any way. Shot with a Pentax K100D using a Sigma 18-125mm lens. F8, 1/180 sec, ISO 200, focal length 108mm. Canada08-KluaneHike01Sept-0363
