  • Autumn Dream
    by Dawne Olson

    US$3.42–US$91.20

In Northern Minnesota we took a canoe trip in Voyageurs National Park. The day we arrived it was raining lightly and a very heavy fog sat over the lakes and rivers. It seemed our September vacation was not off to a very pleasant start. While standing on the dock waiting for our boat to come and shuttle us to Kettle Falls on the US/Canadian border, I took this picture of a small waterfall coming into the Ash river and the autumn colors reflecting off the water. The next three days were gloriously sunny and mild. The fall leaves were stunning and the blue water of the park lakes was truly just like a dream.

Imagine a leisurely trip down a serene river in a canoe carved from native timber without a care in the world….. This place was a photographer’s dream and another highlight of my recent trip to the island of Biak, West Papua. Well off the beaten track!

Reflections of summer and of how I enjoy the simple things in life. Just a quiet summer sunset on the 4th of July before the fireworks. A quiet place in time just to have to reflect on how I wish it to be for my life. Much slower.
