  • Yum
    by KerrieT

    US$4.16

Thud was such a handsome fellow which I had the pleasure of meeting in Colorado in 2007. I had known of Thud prior our meeting as his owner would e-mail me about him. While in Colorado, I managed to get a series of photos of him - including this one. He died shortly after and I am honored that I was blessed with our meeting - even if only for a short moment. Although you can’t tell in these photos, Thud suffered from a condition called degenerative myelopathy (DM). He was slowly going paralyzed and although his mind was sharp, his body was not. 100% of sales of “Thud” cards will be donated to the American Chesapeake Club Trust Fund to help fund research for DM and other diseases which affect our canine friends. Taken with a Canon 30D, Canon f/2.8L IS 70-200mm

  • Occupational Hazard
    by Alex Cearns

    US$6.65–US$152.00

An occupational hazzard associated with being the official photographer for the RSPCA WA! This little guy’s sole agenda was to jump at me and latch onto whatever he could. In this case it was the leg of my jeans, but he also had a good chew on my hand, camera strap and even a 50mm lens! This puppy was re-homed the day this shot was taken. Profit portion of any sales will go to the RSPCA WA. Taken with a Canon 5D and 50mm prime lens @ f1.8, ISO 1000, 1/400th sec, handheld. Featured in Canon DSLR Group Feb 2009. Featured in Workshop Camera Club June 2009.

  • Spay and Neuter Your Robo Pups – This message is brought to you by the SPCRAI (Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Robot Animals International). Here’s one for the web nerds. The idea of a neutered robot dog getting a 404 Error for his missing testicles kept floating in my head. I just had to do it.

  • Meet Chula…Means little or pretty little girl…she came onto our desert property two weeks ago. She was starved, delirious and close to death. Still a puppy, maybe eight or nine months old…she stumbled up to my husband, all fear burned away long ago by starvation and just laid down and began a long mournful cry. / Naturally he called me, I went out and it was so sad that I got tears in my eyes. / We live out in the desert and we see strays now and then or dogs that may live close by and are just on scent…but over the last several months we are starting to see our desert community become a dumping ground for animals (mostly dogs). As the belts tighten and people can’t afford to feed themselves let alone an animal, guess who loses? / Anyway, I fed her and she slept for five hours…woke up, eyes had cleared some, I fed her a bit more and she slept for three more hours. Finally woke up and that was two weeks ago. / I guess Chula is now part of our family, much to the distain of our three other SPOILED RESCUE DOGS…they seem to forget that they too were once in Chula’s place! / Well we have room and it is a “kill center” in the nearest town shelter…it they are not adopted out in 72 hours the shelter puts down the animals…I just could not do that to this dog… / So far I have lost two patio pillows, one tennis shoe and she insists on doing her business in my flower beds, but that is okay…I have taken responsibility for every animal that I found or found me…they have no choice. / Since she came to us I have counted seven more stray wandering dogs and a black cat lived in the garage for a few days and moved on…and now I hear rumors that people are turning out their horses in the area because they can’t feed them. / Please donate to a local shelter…go to the store and buy a big bag of dog food or cat food to help feed the overflowing numbers of abandonded animals…or find a little more space in your heart for an animal that has no choice. Original digital photograph. / Taken with a Sony Full HD 1080 Cyber Shot camera. Thank You for viewing my art. / My Fine Art and Photograph Studio is located in Mesquite, Nevada.
