  • Sugar cane harvesting near Bundaberg, Queensland, Australia.

  • The tree was cut and transferred from another picture and is made from construction paper. The outside scene in the window was made from contsruction. Everything else is hand drawn on my tablet pc with a stylus. The depth was created by the blending options tools in Photoshop. This house belongs to Mari and Berrie Holiday, yule/Christmas faeries in the magical realm of Hinterland. This is one of my favorite pictures because I learned the blending options tool to create drop shadows, and this is one of my favorite times of the year!

  • The window within the red wall reflects the sugar cane that grows around the building. Within the sugar can paddocks of North Eastern New South Wales this scene is repeated with old homes and sheds siting in dilapidated condition.

  • Watercolor on Arches 140lb cold press. This is a Hawaiian Cane Spider which came to me as a stowaway in a box of organic pineapples. She was tarantula-huge, but a relatively slow mover, so she was easy to handle and get into my “model box”. Once there, she proved adept at modeling, but it was a shot similar to this final pose that got me. Her eyes (all eight of them) were the most expressive I’ve ever seen on a spider. / This work has been featured in Art Up Close

  • Coloured pencil and pen on A4 card.

  • Straight from the Cam: Cloudy Skys over Xativa, Spain, created this lovely illusion of a lake with rushes in front and mountains behind. The sky was beautiful, the clouds stunning, it was shot into the sun at 5.10pm GMT+1. / Sunset was an hour later, and it actually shows a shot through riverside (Albaida) cane into the sun.
