NOW AVAILABLE IN PRINT After some weeks of developing this piece in my mind it finally just started to come together. As usual I went at the theme with something different in mind. What are we to say about how the divine eye sees our world or we may see the divine world in comparison to our own. This thought inspired a more surreal feel to the finished product. Arlington West is an ongoing display of the casualties in Iraq on East Beach in Santa Barbara, to protest against the war in Iraq, and increase the public awareness regarding the military and political fallout of staying there. Each Sunday morning thousands of crosses, as the number of the fallen, for that day, are placed in the sand and volunteers are providing the public with up to the moment information on casualties plus individual stories on the fallen. Best on Full Size Although the day started out pretty dismally, the sun eventually came out at The Keystone State – Pennsylvania shoot at Old Bedford Village, Bedford, Pennsylvania, October 24, 2009. I took this image inside one of the many reconstructed buildings on site as the skies were going from rainy to sunny. Camera used was the tripod-mounted Nikon D300 and the 18-200mm vr Nikon lens, uv filter attached. Shutter was 1/2, aperture f/32, iso 640. Post processing included HDR from a single image, duplicated twice to evals of +/-2 in Photoshop. Light Orton and textures applied as well.
