A pen and ink drawing that I did in 2001. It burst out of me in one sitting, without any pencil sketching first, and has remained a personal favourite. I revisited it a couple of years ago in photoshop, cleaned him up a bit, and coloured him. I believe he is my ‘guide’, the protector of my creative energy.
Soft candlelight with summer daisies.
Oil Pastel and Acrylic On Wood Concept: This is one of the many in Ophelia’s Love Encounters Series, it’s her experience of many facets of this wonderful thing called LOVE.. This is what she has to say about love today : “Love is lighting up somebody else’s darkest moments, bringing hope when all seems lost.” / You can view and buy my other “Love Is Lighting Up Somebody’s Else’s Darkest Moments” at my Zazzle Gallery: /
A combination of Tiera-Zon and Apophysis…a Paint Shop Pro tube added in the flame too.
Playing around with long exposure and painting with light. Exposure time – 25 seconds. A lot of fun – then I ate the subject matter!!!
It said that silent night was first play in public on a guitar.

Into The Night Like a gift from the heavens / It was easy to tell / It was love from above / That could save me from hell / She had fire in her soul / It was easy to see / How the devil himself could be pulled out of me / There were drums in the air / As she started to dance / Every soul in the room keeping time with their hands And we sang a, away, away, away / And the voices rang like the angels sing / And singing a, away, away, away / And we danced on into the night / And we danced on into the night Like a piece to the puzzle that puzzle into place / You could tell how we felt from the look on our faces / We were spinning in circles with the moon in our eyes / No room left to move inbetween you and I / And we forgot where we were / And we lost track of time / And we sang to the wind as we danced through the night And we sang a, away, away, away / And the voices rang like the angels sing / And singing a, away, away, away / And we danced on into the night / And we danced on into the night / And we danced on into the night Like a gift from the heavens / It was easy to tell / It was love from above / That could save me from hell / She had fire in her soul / It was easy to see / How the devil himself could be pulled out of me / There were drums in the air as she started to dance / Every soul in the room keeping time with their hands And we sang a, away, away, away / And the voices rang like the angels sing / And singing a, away, away, away / And we danced on into the night / A, away, away, away / And the voices rang like the angels sing / And singing a, away, away, away / And we danced on into the night / A, away, away, away / A, away, away, away / Singing a, away, away, away / And we danced on into the night Nickelback
There is a part of us that ages-our body, primarily-and a part that doesn’t. The part that doesn’t age has something to do with the mind, but it isn’t the mind as we usually think of it; our mental faculties of memory and concentration begin to slowly subside with age just as the body does. But our primary or innate awareness, our feeling of being alive, of just being here, doesn’t age. It is as bright as always, like a candle flame that puts out steady light, whether the candle is new, half gone, or almost out.The trick is to pay attention to the flame, and not the candle. The flame of a candle half gone may burn just as it did at the beginning, but by now it has burned longer, and it knows something about burning. Innate awareness never ages, though the body does, and maturity and wisdom is the compensation for what time eases from our grasp. From Lewis Richmond’s The Candle Flame Burns Just As Brightly
When I learned the song Au Claire de la Lune I was 9 years old and in my mind I saw this image very clearly. I guess I didn’t want the candle to be dead and I suppose I mixed up the candle and the death and the letter writing and the moonlight and love and princesses and all the other things little 9 year old girls think about into one colorful image. I’m really happy to be able to “see it for real” now. Corel Painter Essentials 4. / /

Best on Full Size Although the day started out pretty dismally, the sun eventually came out at The Keystone State – Pennsylvania shoot at Old Bedford Village, Bedford, Pennsylvania, October 24, 2009. I took this image inside one of the many reconstructed buildings on site as the skies were going from rainy to sunny. Camera used was the tripod-mounted Nikon D300 and the 18-200mm vr Nikon lens, uv filter attached. Shutter was 1/2, aperture f/32, iso 640. Post processing included HDR from a single image, duplicated twice to evals of +/-2 in Photoshop. Light Orton and textures applied as well.
I suppose this is a pretty symbolic kind of image really… maybe a bit too simply symbolic, to my mind… Feel free to read into it what you will, if you so desire… Made from all my own images. O – please view larger for a better view of the detail – thanks ;)
