I saw this woman as i wandered through a Rwandan hospital. There, in the stark hospital room, she sat admiring this tiny creature with such love and gentleness. Her contentment of knowing that this tiny baby was hers. / I could not resist but to capture it.

This shot was taken in Copacabana in 2006, a little town in the north of Bolivia, situated on the bank of Lake Titicaca, the highest navigable lake in the world at 3800 mts. / There was a big celebration in town that day and so much to see and discover. But I was so tired that I decided to sit down and rest for a while when those two men sat just in front of me. I took so many pictures of them but this one is my favorite.

Never mind the hate speech both Clinton and Obama have sparked by their bid for the nomination. I can now tell my son that this is America where little boys and girls, of any race or religion, can grow up to be President ( I hope). Animae / This candid portrait was taken a few weeks ago at the Brunswick St festival, here in Melbourne. I was immediately struck by the hair and especially by the way it shone in the light. My two sons were heavily into Dragonball Z growing up (and I admit – I loved it also hehe). This character looked like he came straight out of one of the scenes. Candid portraiture is one of my deepest passion when it comes to photography. This is not your average craft market, rather a real market in the sense that it is the community that shops here, the tourists seldom hear about it or go.

Flower girl was taken at the Hindu festival of Thaipusam, in Singapore back in 1985. The festival itself is quite dramatic and possibly scary, with Hindu devotees piercing their bodies with hooks and skewers. While photographers naturally focus on them, I make it a point to also look for interesting scenes on the side, like this Indian beauty who was there to support a devotee.

I took this picture in my local cafe’ in Cusco…El Cafe Extra ! / I was having my breakfast when this man.. el Señor Castro came in ! / He is a local and he is a lovely and friendly person always with a big smile ! / But I caught him looking at the window for a long while in such a contemplative and sad mood ! I had the time to get my camera and take this photograph ! It wasn’t an easy one..there was not much light and the exposure was 1/20 second ! But I just love his expression !

Ayacucho, Peru ! Quechua and Aymara were the main languages spoken by the native people of the central highland of South America before the arrival of the spanish ! / In the rural areas of Ayacucho, in central Peru, like in the areas around Cusco the majority of native people still speaks Quechua and some of them barely spanish ! / I didn´t meet many tourists during the time spent in this part of Peru and i really felt immerse in a different reality ! / But now it´s not so different anymore…!!! / / .

Cusco, Peru´! El Cafe Extra is the place I like more in Cusco ! / Nice and quite welcomes tourists and local people ! / There are stories about Pablo Neruda and Che Guevara enjoying the nice coffee here when they visited the city…!!! / Not sure it´s true, but what I´m sure is that coffee here, locally produced, really taste great..! / Mr Castro is one of the many regulars, he is nice and friendly although he gets deep in thoughts sometimes ! / I love his face and expression! this is one of the many shot I took during one of the many breakfasts at El Cafe´ Extra !
