This poor fella took to the Assiniboine Park as a home. / Now I know you’re thinking… Winnipeg… Guinea Pigs aren’t native to Winnipeg are they? / And yes you are correct. They are in fact not pigs or from Guinea but rodents from South America. So for more info http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Guinea_pig But regardless it’s living large in the park at the time of the photograph.
Assiniboine Park in Winnipeg has an amazing amount of wildlife. / For an urban park I have seen deer, a wide assortment of birds, lots of rabbits, squirrels, raccoons, and turtles. Until this day I had never seen a Guinea Pig in the Wild. / Since Guinea Pigs are native to the Andes in South America this little guy must be running free from somewhere.
Up close & personal with a wild fox… this photo was not cropped.

This Poor Little guy was frantic, he did not seem like he was having a good time, I think he was kicked out of his den this year by his Mom or he was separated from his Mother, either way he seemed stressed out, I left a note at the Game Warden’s office about sighting the poor fella, I hope that people don’t get in his face or feed him, as this could lead to his destruction. People are the Only reason Bears have to be Destroyed, stupid people wanting to feed a bear and take pictures of interacting with them is the Number one endangerment to these animals, I have vowed to Clobber people when I see them abusing the privilege of seeing these Mighty Creatures in their natural element, it is a great honor and we should be responsible for protecting them not destroying them.
A cool Wilderness design from a digitally enhanced photograph taken by Skye Ryan-Evans, on a very recent trip to the Canadian Rockies. “A powerful Black Bear stood just 20 feet from us, before a beautiful water-fall pouring from the Kicking Horse River, at the foot of soaring Rocky Mountain peaks. The wild animals we encountered on our recent adventure were never aggressive or threatening in their behaviour around us”. 25% of all profits from sales of this item benefits the great Defenders of Wildlife at www.defenders.org. Thank you for caring about our precious wilderness citizens.
Northern Ontario has some of the most beautiful sunsets I’ve seen. I think it must be the lack of air pollutants, lack of people, and lack of anything besides forest and rugged wilderness. This was shot while canoeing one of the many lakes north of Elliot Lake Ontario, Canada.
October storm in 2006 on the Nova Scotia coast not far from Peggy’s Cove. The Atlantic always provides us with great photo-ops if we happen to like storms. Of course we also have to like getting wet, waiting for breaks in the driving rain, and somehow keep the camera dry, but the end result is worth it. I always try to catch the surf reaching to the top of the cliffs and sometimes beyond. Sony DSCF828 camera

Featured in Wildflowers of North America on July 25th, 2009. No post-processing. / A close-up of two vivid purple Common Wild Rose blooms taken on a bright sunny day in Lynde Shores Conservation Area in Whitby, Ontario, Canada. Common Wild Rose (Rosa virginiana), also known as Virginia Rose or Prairie Rose, is a woody perennial in the rose family native to eastern North America. Young male wild turkey in Birdshill Provincial Park , Manitoba Canada. This fellow finally calmed down and let me get real close. Mind you incase you are wondering , they do attack in small packs and have really big claws…..Dont ask….. :(
There is no way to describe seeing these beautiful animals in the wild. The thing that surprised me most was the lack of sound from these bears. The sound of the wind is all you hear, no growls just occasional thuds as their bodies come together. Their silent “social fighting” is a common activity for the bears before they go out onto the ice flows for the winter. / The only growl that I heard on my 5 days on the tundra came from a mother bear warning her cubs of danger and from an older seasoned bear showing dominance over a young male bear. / From The Collection: The Bears of Churchill / deridorityphotography.com / 100% of sales from this collection go to Polar Bears International
