Cold fall morning in the Yukon. As much as the sun looks warm, as cold as this morning was. Nature is so beautiful…
Photograph taken on top of the Dome, Dawson City, Yukon Territory, Canada. / Summer solstice 2006, MIDNIGHT (June 22nd). / The sun that goes through the Inukshuk adds to the F-stop effect. Photography is a great way to capture what we want to remember. / Great souvenir for those of you who have traveled north to the Yukon and that have witnessed Solstice there as well. / A picture is worth a thousand words. / This one a thousand beautiful souvenirs.
This is a compilation image of a flock of Canada geese and the sun setting behind the San Juan mountains in southern Colorado.

Another of my Kananaskis (foothills of the Rockies) shots. It was one of those days where every shot was gold-plated. / Minor exposure adjustment only.
/ / It would be such a pity to leave without a comment. Like it? Say so. Don’t like it? Say so too! With a bang, if that fits your style. I’d rather leave a negative impression (on someone) than nothing at all. DullnBoring is not my middle name. Neither my last (I knew you’d probably say that!). As for the first name, it’s on the front page. So, please, leave a note and make my day a beautiful one! Thank you from the heart my friend. / / . / Please view also my other work.. / / Thank you for visiting.

Background Information: / Tofino is a village of about 1,650 residents on the west coast of Vancouver Island, in British Columbia, Canada, located at the western terminus of Highway 4. It is located at the tip of the Esowista Peninsula, and is thus a part of Clayoquot Sound. Islands in the vicinity include Meares, Vargas and Flores. Lone Cone on Meares Island is an extinct volcano. Tofino and the nearby town of Ucluelet are the closest towns to the Pacific Rim National Park Reserve. The settlement of Tofino first acquired the name in 1909 with the opening of the Tofino Post Office, named in association with Tofino Inlet nearby. Tofino Inlet was named in 1792 by the Spanish commanders Galiano and Valdés, in honor of Admiral Vicente Tofiño, under whom Galiano had learned cartography. A popular tourist destination in the summer, Tofino’s population swells to many times its winter size. It attracts surfers, nature lovers, campers, whale watchers, fishermen, or anyone just looking to be close to nature. In the winter it is not as bustling, however, many people visit Tofino and the west coast to watch storms on the water. Close to Tofino is Long Beach, a scenic and popular year-round destination, at the Pacific Rim National Park Reserve. Nearby Maquinna Marine Provincial Park, with its natural hot springs, is located about 45 kilometres (28 mi) north of Tofino and is also a popular day-trip destination for tourists although it is only reachable by boat or float plane. In life as well as fishing it’s all about the journey! / As the sunrise burned through the fog early Sunday morning, on Clear Lake near Hunstville, Ontario, two fishermen enthusiastically set out for their favourite fishing spot… / This shot was as a result of an early morning walk in / August 2008 in the fog: part planning, part serendipity. I particularly like the fact that compared to a lot of fog shots it displays color, to I think, an advantage and shows the promise of a beautiful sunny summer day emerging… Nikon D40, Nikkor 18-55mm lens Featured in the group Ontario November 2009 / Top Ten placement in the Summer challenge for the group Ontario November 2009 / Top Ten Placement in the Nikon D40 Users, Masterpiece challenge, September 2009 / Featured in the Nikon D40 Users group, July 2009 / Top Ten in the Journey or Destination challenge for the First Things group, July 2009 / Featured in the Outsiders, March 2009 / Featured in Canada: The Great White North group September 2008 / Featured in the Nirvana group September 2008 / Avatar for Shots In The Fog group October 2008 / Featured in the ImageWriting group November 2008 / Featured in the 100% group. Shot taken minutes after the sunset over the snow covered Lake of Two Mountains, Oka Quebec, CANADA. I particularly liked how the sun’s rays created a vertical light beam into the sky. Taken on Saturday, March 14th 2009, Nikon D40, Nikkor VR 55-200mm lens. Featured in Outsiders, April 2009 / Featured in Dimensions, March 2009.
Lake of Two Mountains, in the village of Oka Quebec, CANADA,taken on Saturday March 21st 2009 with Nikon D40, Nikkor VR 55-200mm lens. / The tracks you see carved into the ice in the foreground are made by the cars that pass daily on the “ice bridge” from one side of the shore to the other. This ice roadway is maintained by a private company, has been 100 years in existence and no accidents have ever happened. However, the day that we were there, we noted during the afternoon that several pools of water had emerged over top the ice in some places and we presume that was the last weekend of using the passage over the lake to get to the other side. Every 300 years or so the planet Hale’akala glows red with anger, it is then time when offerings are made to the Goddess Pele. A time when our old and unhealthy give themselves, so that the strong may live. Stories and legends tell that this tower that rises 500 feet above to sea was once a great sky ship, and it sailed between the stars, it brought the people here to this place. / Our people have some very strange stories, how could something so big fly? Glenmore Reservoir, Calgary, Alberta, Canada This was one my very first photo’s I took. There were many things I had not yet picked up. I had the iso on auto, which I think for this photo was about 400 – 800. This led to much of the noise in the sky. I had the aperture set at f22, which at the time I thought was best to bring more of the photo in focus but I later found it can soften the overall image. I also did not own a tripod so I had to balance the camera on some rocks which made composing the scene much harder then normal and led to a small amount of camera shake. In the end though this became the first photo I had taken that I was truly proud of and solidified my passion for photography.
