Chinook clouds are a unique cloud formation found mainly in southern Alberta, Canada. A chinook is also known as the “snow eater” as it brings in warm air into the region during the winter. My sky shots are 100% natural and have not been altered or enhanced.

Peggy’s Cove is one of the most photographed locations in the world located in Nova Scotia, Canada. This tiny inlet boasts some spectacular scenery including huge glacial rocks, a tiny village of 40 inhabitants, and particularly the lighthouse. / The crashing Atlantic Ocean surf on these lovely rocks is fabulous.

Now this IS my desktop photo and is one of my favorites, obviously. / I just wish I had taken this at a higher resolution. / The Kananaskis is the foothills area of the Rockies southwest of Calgary Alberta. There is a wonderful road from Longview to Canmore which has some of the most spectacular and available scenery for shutterbugs. A sunny day is just a recipe for a wonderful day of photography.

Clouds cast shadowy designs on a turquoise glacier fed lake in the Canadian Rockies. / Peyto Lake (pea-toe) is a glacier-fed lake located in the Banff National Park in the Canadian Rockies. One can easily access the lovely views of the lake from the Icefields Parkway. / Peyto Lake was named for Ebenezer William Peyto, an early trail guide and trapper in the Banff area. / The lake is formed in a valley of the Waputik Range, between Caldron Peak, Peyto Peak and Mount Jimmy Simpson, at an elevation of 1,860 m (6,100 ft). / During the summer months, significant amounts of glacial rock flour flow into the lake, and it is these suspended rock particles that give the lake its bright, turquoise color. Because of its bright color, photos of the lake often appear in illustrated books, and the area around the lake is a popular for sightseeing. The lake is best seen from Bow Summit, the highest point on the Icefield Parkway. / The lake is fed by the Peyto Creek, which drains water from the Caldron Lake and Peyto Glacier (part of the Wapta Icefield), and flows into the Mistaya River.

NOTE; Upon some suggestions from some fellow photo club members, I made a color balance change to this copy. I added a little magenta and until doing so, did not notice the photo had an overall green hue to it! The magenta added more warmth and took the green hue away! Which version do you prefer?
