  • Moraine Lake
    by PhotoDucky

    US$3.70–US$98.80

Moraine Lake is a glacially fed lake in Banff National Park, 14 kilometres outside the Village of Lake Louise, Alberta, Canada. It is situated in the Valley of the Ten Peaks, at an elevation of approximately 6183 feet (1884 m). The lake has a surface area of 0.5 km². The lake, being glacially fed, does not reach its crest until mid to late June. However, when it is full, it is a beautiful shade of blue. The lake gets its color from the refraction of light off the rock flour deposited in the lake on a continual basis. source: wikipedia Taken with a Nikon D70s with a 18-200mm Sigma lens

When I first got there, I stepped in what I thought was snow but was ice and water ...up to my knees almost ..my feet got totally soaked and I had just got there… I decided OK..damn , Im here Im not going home ..I will go until my feet freeze ..and I did .. 2 1/2 hours later ….it wasnt too bad walking in the roadways but I didnt stay there ..nope I had to go into the deep snow ( past my knees at times ) lol … anyway 3 hours later I went home with frozen jeans full of ice and snow … the temperature was not real warm …below zero ..ahhh the things we do for photos :) I hope my photos are worth my wet feet and that you like them :) If you get tired of snow scenes ..just let me know !
