  • 1840 v2.0 / With the original versions of these pictures I was not able to use all the shots because they where damaged. But now, four years later, and with Photo Shop CS3, I’m able to rescue some really great pictures and show them now with pride. / This series was done in the middle of the woods, around the middle of Dec, 2002. It was freezing! The hot chocolate helped though. Most of these pictures are with Theak & Alex standing together, this was not a direction, and they were doing this out of a need for warmth! Half of these pictures were taken using a Nikon F, or F2 I believe, (no markings on the camera), and the other half with a Canon G3 digital camera. / Great makeup job by Rhiana, and of course, the whole look and feel of this shoot would not have been possible if not for the styling of Elisa. / Photo by Jef Harris / http://www.jefharris.net

  • / Tobermory is a gorgeous little town on the northern tip of the Bruce Peninsula in Ontario. It’s harbor not only filled with luxury yachts but also with a lot of shipwrecks, which makes it a divers paradise. It’s part of the Fathom Five National Marine Park of Canada. Luckily for me you don’t have to dive to discover a few of the shipwrecks. Luckily because I spent to much time underwater once, without diving gear, and I’m not inclined to submerge myself for longer periods under water. ;) This beauty caught my eye when strolling along the shore, with the duck approaching, I had to hurry but I was just in time to capture it. This image is one of my most popular wallpapers on my wallpaper website and I hope it will make me proud here also. You can find this image as a wallpaper on my wallpaper website more work / preview /

  • In life as well as fishing it’s all about the journey! / As the sunrise burned through the fog early Sunday morning, on Clear Lake near Hunstville, Ontario, two fishermen enthusiastically set out for their favourite fishing spot… / This shot was as a result of an early morning walk in / August 2008 in the fog: part planning, part serendipity. I particularly like the fact that compared to a lot of fog shots it displays color, to I think, an advantage and shows the promise of a beautiful sunny summer day emerging… Nikon D40, Nikkor 18-55mm lens Featured in the group Ontario November 2009 / Top Ten placement in the Summer challenge for the group Ontario November 2009 / Top Ten Placement in the Nikon D40 Users, Masterpiece challenge, September 2009 / Featured in the Nikon D40 Users group, July 2009 / Top Ten in the Journey or Destination challenge for the First Things group, July 2009 / Featured in the Outsiders, March 2009 / Featured in Canada: The Great White North group September 2008 / Featured in the Nirvana group September 2008 / Avatar for Shots In The Fog group October 2008 / Featured in the ImageWriting group November 2008 / Featured in the 100% group. • 930 views as of Nov. 13, 2009 Featured in The Birds – Feb. 15, 2009 / I can almost feel it. Spring is JUST around the corner. It’s such an exciting time in Canada after a long and cold winter. The lilac trees bloom putting forth the sweetest scent and the hummingbirds return to our property after a long migration. Yes, Spring will be here before we know it. I can’t wait! I spent countless HOURS last summer, sitting in a lawn chair, ever so patiently waiting to try & capture one of these little darlings in flight. They are only 7-9 cm long. While hovering their wings beat 55x/s, 61x/s when moving backwards, and at least 75x/s when moving forward! / / —-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—— / Processing info: / This image started out with 3 photograph layers (the lilac background image, a female ruby-throated hummingbird, and the tail from a different photo of the same bird). I took all of the original images with my Canon DSLR. After removing the background around the original bird photos I merged all of the layers in PhotoShop. I digitally painted/blended the entire image in Corel Painter X using the Impasto Depth Smear brush at 30% opacity. I cloned out a distracting branch in the upper left corner and performed blend # 2 work on the main lilac blooms, hummingbird, and the largest leaves using grainy blender 10 brush at 38% opacity. / —-—-—-—-—-—-—-—- / Bird Gallery / ADD RENEE TO YOUR WATCHLIST

DIGITAL PORTRAIT PAINTING – PHOTO PAINTING SERVICES Featured in Animal Portraits, Cats & Dogs, – March 11, 2009, in Paws n Claws June 2009 & in PhoDOGraphy July 27, 2009. I took the original photo of my friend’s dog last summer with my Canon DSLR at a campsite in Ontario. I really liked the image but wanted to kick it up a notch :) I redid the entire image in Corel Painter starting with a gentle watercolor blend of the background. I then repainted the entire collar, cloned out some distractions and gave it a vibrant and new red tone. Every single piece of hair on the dog was then painted & blended with watercolor and airbrushes. Featured in Fantasy Fine Art Composites and in Butterflies, skippers, moths & other Winged Insects – March 23, 2009 / The Emerald Swallowtail Butterfly – also known as the Emerald Peacock or Green-Banded Peacock – is found primarily in South East Asia. It has iridescent scales that give their wings a glittery appearance. I created the background from scratch in Corel Painter, added various texture layers, and inserted this beautiful swallowtail from an image I took at the Butterfly Conservatory in Niagara Falls. / / Beautiful Bugs / / ADD RENEE TO YOUR WATCHLIST

  • Algonquin Park Ontario, CANADA / September 26th 2009 / Nikon D40, Nikkor VR 55-200mm lens We first came upon Roxy sitting in the middle of the road in front of the ranger station and entry gate to Algonquin Park, northeast side, on the way to Grand Lake. As soon as we parked, she approached us and alternately scampered about the parking lot. / She was so sweet and kept quickly coming close to me to inspect what I was doing as I madly tried to capture her image with the zoom lens I had on the camera. / I loved the gentle inquisitive look in her eyes. I really wanted to pet her but knew better, despite my compulsion to name this little red fox, she is a wild animal with very pointy little teeth.
