This fishing boat “Grumpy” is tied up in West Pennant, Nova Scotia.
Well, the temperature was -3 and we were having periods of snow; however, this brave soul was out surfing. They weren’t alone though, there were several others doing the same thing. I had the camera pointed towards the surfer when the wave broke so I grabbed the shot.
This shot was taken in West Pennant, Nova Scotia. West Pennant is a tiny fishing village about 40 minutes from downtown Halifax. These traps look something like the ones my Father and I used to fish with.

If you have a moment I am rather curious about something. I couldn’t decide between two images so I’m uploading both and calling them Peggy’s Cove, NS (1) and Peggy’s Cove, NS (2). Can you tell me which you enjoy the best? Thanks!! Darlene Here’s the other one / /
I was hoping if you have a second you could help me with a bit of curiosity. I couldn’t decide between this shot and the other which is close and has the same name with the exception of being (1) instead of (2). I uploaded both and decided to get opinions if you don’t mind. Thanks! Darlene Here’s the other one / /
There I stood under the lamp pole, waiting impatiently for this so and so to take flight. I thought “this is it, my chance at the perfect gull shot with the pretty blue sky behind him.” There was only one problem with this, he didn’t move. I kicked the pole and I shook the pole, nothing. I threw dried seaweed hoping to fool the gull into thinking it was food and flying after it, nothing. Finally, just when I lowered my camera to give my arms a rest, he flew… and forgot to say “cheese.”
This was the last moments of a sunset over Pennant Harbour, Nova Scotia. This shot appeals to me because the sunset divides the ocean from the sky. It was a very windy, cold, and nasty day which unfortunately you can’t see in the water but you can in the sky.
It’s 5:00 am and I’m sitting here with pretty bad heartburn and trying to take my mind off of it, so I came up with this idea. Probably not the best way to take my mind off of the heartburn huh? LOL
This was taken on a gorgeous June day at White Point Beach Lodge on the South Shore of Nova Scotia, Canada.
