I took this shot of a very hazardous stretch of coastline on the very southern tip of Newfoundland just below a lighthouse. The winds were so high that day and the sea was whipped into such a boiling cauldron, my imagination was taken away. As I stood there and watched I could almost visualize a ghost ship emerging from the fog, the lighthouse that stood just above me was blowing its foghorn which added a sense of eerieness to the already somber scene. The winds lashed at me attempting to pluck me into the sea as a offering of peace for disturbing this epic battle between land and sea. / / Visit my website On The Rock Photography / /

I just had to revisit the abandoned farmhouse where I shot the image The Tenant / / / / This is a view from the kitchen looking in from the outside… the windows are all beat out of the house and you cannot get to the kitchen from the inside because the floor is unstable and you’ll probably end up in the basement. This is in Nova Scotia Canada .. not far from where I used to live growing up right on the Atlantic ocean ….a foggy day when I was there but thats not unusal lol …... I just love it here .. can you imagine the inspiration you could get there ? !

One of the many colourful side streets in downtown St. John’s, Newfoundland.

The Colonial Building was the seat of the Newfoundland government and the House of Assembly from January 28, 1850 to July 28, 1959 and in 1974 declared a Provincial Historic Site. It was also the site of a number of political riots and disturbances. One of those was the public protest on April 5, 1932 for maladministration and corruption in government when all the windows were broken, doors smashed and furniture destroyed, which cost $10,000 to repair. Came across this abandoned field and an old footprint of a house at the end of this private road on Saturday, September 27th 2008, in Rigaud, Quebec Canada. Despite the weather being overcast and rainy, I could not pass it by, I was attracted by the yellow. A friend tells me it is buckwheat. / I walked the property and kept thinking, a house once stood upon this very spot, looking over the valley and to the hills beyond. People once lived here…and had dreams, dreams now long forgotten…
