Caught this horse in a pasture near Okotoks, Alberta, Canada against the sunset for a lovely silhouette tonight. / Somehow, a horse grazing in a pasture has the most calming effect on me and is the real reason I moved out of the city to be in the fresh air and slower pace of the country. / PS work
Beautiful Norwegian Fjord horse sporting her winter coat basking in the lovely sunshine! Photo taken December 10, 2007.
Just re- edited this because the first one was too dark. a combination of two photographs blended together in PS using multiple layering and blending. Needs to be viewed larger to really see the work!

I came across these beautiful horses drinking from the pond just south of Vernon on Westside Road and I was struck by the size and the beautiful color of these animals. There were three of these horses there and all had the same color, markings and were about the same size. Photo taken April 28/2008.
From the Northern tip of Labrador down to the eastern coast of Newfoundland, the sea that pounds and caresses these shores is nicknamed Iceberg Alley. Bergs born 10,000 years ago on the Greenland icecap dance along the coast and far out to sea, propelled unpredictably by wind and tide, tumbling, twirling, and breaking into fantastic shapes before melting in the warm waters of the gulf stream. / / An iceberg’s journey down Iceberg Alley begins once it breaks off from the edges of Greenland’s glaciers. Dropping into the ocean, it is gripped by the Labrador Current and carried through the dark ocean along the coasts of Newfoundland and Labrador. In the past, during certain times of the year, the alley has been thick with the largest and most beautiful icebergs found anywhere in the world. They glide majestically along, alone or in groups, obscuring the horizon with their tall, jagged silhouettes. / / Visit my website On The Rock Photography / / More in this series / / / / / / / / / / / / / / / / / Visit my website On The Rock Photography
This is a composite of three photos, a sculpture of the herd (by a local artist I am told), a close-up of just one of the horses, and a wagon in my sister’s yard.
Composite photo. Hope you like it. Taken east of Okotoks, Alberta
At the urging of several fellow RB aficionados I have remade this photo with a relevant background sans the offending barbed wire. SC and PS work. / I hope everyone likes it. / Taken east of Okotoks, AB
