At the gentle suggestion of one LJ Maxx, I uploaded this darker version of “Horse Montage II” for entry into the Challenge Cafe Black & White challenge. / The lighter version showing on the right is uploaded as “Horse Montage II”. This is a composite of three photos, a sculpture of the herd (by a local artist I am told), a close-up of just one of the horses, and a wagon in my sister’s yard. /

went out for a quick shoot this morning..and found this gorgeous horse ..shoot on the same property as still running…..she/he is a beaut..love the coat on it and the mane..if that is what it is called..we had a good chat back and forth..as you can tell from the sky..we still have bad weather / All artwork is © Heather Rivet, All Rights Reserved. Just re- edited this because the first one was too dark. a combination of two photographs blended together in PS using multiple layering and blending. Needs to be viewed larger to really see the work!

Sherman was lying down resting in his stall after a busy morning…....All these horses are so beautiful and so loved by their humans…....... Behind the scene shots are my favorite….......... Bergs born 10,000 years ago on the Greenland icecap dance along the coast and far out to sea, propelled unpredictably by wind and tide, tumbling, twirling, and breaking into fantastic shapes before melting in the warm waters of the gulf stream. / / An iceberg’s journey down Iceberg Alley begins once it breaks off from the edges of Greenland’s glaciers. Dropping into the ocean, it is gripped by the Labrador Current and carried through the dark ocean along the coasts of Newfoundland and Labrador. In the past, during certain times of the year, the alley has been thick with the largest and most beautiful icebergs found anywhere in the world. I came across these beautiful horses drinking from the pond just south of Vernon on Westside Road and I was struck by the size and the beautiful color of these animals. There were three of these horses there and all had the same color,markings and were about the same size. Photo taken April 28/2008.

I have only experienced it once, but I have never forgotten the feeling of freedom I experienced while flying over a field on horseback. I hope to find that same experience again someday soon!
