Algonquin Park, Ontario is the most beautiful place in the world in the fall. I went up the weekend before Thanksgiving and could not stop shooting all weekend. Several hundred fall pictures later this one is by far my favorite. Sometimes you gotta get dirty to get the right shot… This time lying on the very cold and damp ground and getting right underneath a low lying fern certainly paid off. The brother and sister recognized River from last fall and they both came to say “hello”. The “brand-new” fawn followed suit as her brother and sister seemed to know us and thought of us as “friends”. :) Before they circled my overjoyed dog and they all ran off together, they first make sure that they got their spring morning “family photo” taken. :) Donation to charity / 50% of the proceeds of the sale of this image will be donated to Algonquin Park
This is a shot of mine from Bunsen Lake Forest. Located in Beautiful BC, Canada.Vancouver its Just down the road from my brothers house.

The mystical slopes of Forbidden Plateau on Vancouver Island BC, Canada, harbour a secret. Anciently it is said that an entire tribe of people who were pursued by their enemies, disappeared forever into the sacred mists high up on the plateau. A powerful legend that still thrives today. Part proceeds from this photograph help benefit the Prince Rupert Wildlife Rescue Shelter. Thank you for helping the animals.

A groomed walking trail in the woods at Oka Park, during the winter, and an beach/park access road in the summer, Quebec CANADA. There was not a soul in sight today when we walked there. The silence was incredible, all we could hear was the crunch of the snow beneath our feet, the occasional rustle of our winter coats as we moved our arms, and our breath as we inhaled and exhaled. The trees shielded us from the wind. It was a very peaceful experience. At the very end of this path is the beach, now of course completely hidden by a layer of snow, but an inviting open space when we arrived, and we happily made our way to the lodge for a fireside sip of hot chocolate. / Taken mid-afternoon on December 31st/08, New Year’s Eve. Nikon D40, 18-55mm Nikkor lens Thankfully we had dressed warm enough for a short excursion, even though we were headed for the theatre later in the day, but I forgot and put on an old pair of leather gloves that are really not winter appropriate. At one point, my fingers were freezing, mainly due to my taking my hands out of the gloves in order to work the camera, and Wanda, my friend, made me swap with her so that I could wear her warm woolen mittens in between shots. / Friendship is sharing mittens, that’s for sure! / The beauty of this walk left a big impression on me. We barely covered any distance because of the cold and our husbands waiting back at her home, but she wanted me to see what a wonderful area was here in her neighborhood for exploring, and we vowed to come back, dressed appropriately and armed with snowshoes to make the passage easier. The Fenland Trail in the morning affords a good opportunity to see wildlife moving around the marsh and river areas. This trail connects to the Bow River Trail which actually goes all the way into Banff townsite proper. If you have time, this is a nice easy walk to get to this area without actually having to drive to get to it. The Vermillion Lakes are slightly to the west of the Fenland Trail and you can either walk to them or drive your car and use the pulloffs available. It’s a bit noisy being so close to the Trans Canada Hwy, but the scenery more than makes up for it. Throughout the day you’ll see numerous waterfowl frequenting the area. The real draw, however, is in the evening when the winds are low and the water is still, making the lake surface a mirror reflection of the now beautifully lit Mt Rundle in the background.
