  • How Far Can A Hug Travel
    by Wendy Slee

How far can a hug travel? / Can its strength endure the miles? / At the speed of light over five thousand k’s / Can you feel my smiles…

this is a little poem I wrote in my much younger days….. but I was inspired by a wonderful act of kindness here on rb recently, it reminded me of these words, and it made me think that while we can send the word “hug” back and forth across the waves to the people we care about, I honestly believe we can send the energy with it! AND more importantly, the person receiving it can actually feel it! / I am one who works with energy and knows just what power it holds…...So when you type those little thoughts and good wishes, MEAN them! And the vibes will travel and will endure…. THANK YOU Sophie – You are an Inspiration and a Friend.

  • If you can't see the wind, let it see you.
    by Brett Foster

But if you let it, the wind can be your inner vision, your soul sight.

Silly poem that accompanies my short animation Dead Dogs Can’t… An attempt to tell children the reality of death and loss but in a humourous and sweet way. The poem is intended to be read aloud in a soft, maternal voice. In the animation this was narrated by my dear friend Elizabeth Kennedy. Dedicated to Foxy.

  • How Love Can Drown Us All
    by lolowe

It started with a question / Sinewy, intangible / Sparking the air like current in water / Pulling us downward beyond ourselves Our finge…

I wanted to write something a little more on the romantic side…though I’m not an explicit person…and subtlety is my nature, so I didn’t just outright speak of love. I just hinted it in the motion of water.

  • what can I say?

So now, through these dark times / I pray that you will find / Glimmers of hope, / Slivers of joy / And a peace beyond human minds

There are times I am called upon and often write. / This was one of those times and these were the words which began. What can I say? / What can I do? / There’s nothing that I can / Nothing / No how / Nowhere / No way…. The rest, the answer, followed. / …pray….

‘What will happen when I die?’ is one of the most important questions a human being can ask. To find an answer is to discover a deeper meaning to life. To know that there is at least a part of oneself that survives death would provide a much wider perspective on existence, a perspective that could radically transform the way we lived our life.
